Good thing the Mets came away with the W yesterday after that shaky bullpen nonsense. Poor Santana, the guy has been solid except for 1 start and can't buy a win

Thought I read he was just ranked a top 10 prospect in all of baseball a few weeks ago by some publication...not like that means much

Sandy Alderson is a very good GM, Wheeler was a steal for the Mets in the Beltran trade. SF who has a very good record of scouting and developing pitchers took Wheeler in the first round. Alderson thinks he'll be an important piece of the future of this team, and I gotta trust his judgement.

Might be one of the worst moments in Mets history. In our defense everyone hated Luis Castillo anyway.

Bump for the Mets going for the sweep of Philly Tommorow, great game

Agreed Gravy. Win or lose, at least they are fun to watch. No more lollygagging, they play hard for 9 innings. Like you said, as a fan, thats all I ask for.

Who would have thought this team would have a better record then it did last year, without Reyes.

perfectly said Gravy, I really hated not caring about the Mets when august and september rolled around and they were just playing to finish the season, but if they keep playing this way the rest of the year, good things will happen. There's alot of talent on this team and I think it's finally starting to show. Ironically in a small way we have to thank Omar Minaya because he's the one who signed alot of the guys contributing in a major way at this point. He's a good talent scout but sucked as a GM, I trust Sandy Alderson alot more. I also think Terry Collins has a ton to do with it, he is the perfect fit for this team, he's a no nonsense coach but he's still encouraging to the young guys and it has a great effect when the whole team is comprised of young talented players, and they love playing for him. Nobody is predicting a world series, but they seem to enjoy the underdog role, much like the NY Giants they seem to thrive on it. Couldn't agree more with you guys that this team so far has been fun to watch and let's hope the success will continue well into the season. Who knows if they're in contention by the all-star break they may be able to make some deals, but one game at a time, LGM!!

This team has been such a pleasure to watch, they have alot to feel good about now. It's not weird at all to walk around work today and sing "Meet the Mets", not at all. I agree with Jose who???

    From the SNY FB page:

From Adam Schein on twitter, "Yes. The Phillies are a mess right now. But what the Mets did in Philly this week was flat out tremendous. "
  13. A.Lange=Crazy Full Member

Tremendous lmao you beat up the worst bullpen in baseball. Mutts are still shit and will finish behind the Phillies.

Mutts are shit, and Phillies are the shit of shit since they lost 5/6 at home to a shit team.

Whats the odds of Mets finishing ahead of Phils? I might want to take your bet...
  15. A.Lange=Crazy Full Member

I don't know you give me the odds.
  16. sir1us Full Member

Mets are shit yet they swept the even shittier Phillies, can't argue with that.

Lets all share a moment and enjoy some of alc's predictions over the years:
the pats will go undefeated and beat the Giants in the SB--2007
the phils are much better then the Yankees and will beat them in the WS--2009
the phils have the best rotation in baseball and noone will stop them--2010
the pats will beat the Giants in the SB this year-2012
the 6ers will definitely have a better regular season record then the Knicks this year--2012

ok guys is anyone besides me seeing a trend here??

    You forgot some:

St Louis Cards season is over in August 2011, prior to going on to win the 2011 World Series
New York Giants season is over in December 2011, prior to winning the superbowl in February 2012
WVU will not make the ncaa tourny in February 2012, prior to making the tourny in March 2012
76ers will "run away" with the Atlantic Division in 2012, he classified "running away" as greater then 5 games

Dont forget when I then asked him to put his money where his mouth is on backing up his "mutts are still shit and will finish behind the phils" he comes back with a bet that only gives 2-1 odds "At the most"

So many predictions...so little time to remember them all...but they do all seem to have one thing in common:jj:

If alc had been around when DiMaggio played he woulda called him a "mediocre centerfielder who couldn't hit a curve"
