my uncle did have a vagina, but that's beside the point. letting zimmerman go so quickly is weird and i don't think it would a happened if he invoked the "stand your ground" defense in an instance where the person killed his wife in public. but it sure worked here. weird.

they cut him loose because a prosecutor made them. then walked off the case\......... way to "STAND YOUR GROUND"

Feds Open Investigation Into Trayvon Martin Case

Late Monday night, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that it will open an investigation into the murder of Trayvon Martin.

The Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, and the FBI opened an investigation into the facts and circumstances of the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. The department will conduct a thorough and independent review of all of the evidence and take appropriate action at the conclusion of the investigation. The department also is providing assistance to and cooperating with the state officials in their investigation into the incident. With all federal civil rights crimes, the government must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that a person acted intentionally and with the specific intent to do something which the law forbids – the highest level of intent in criminal law. Negligence, recklessness, mistakes and accidents are not prosecutable under the federal criminal civil rights laws. The Community Relations Service will be in Sanford, Fla., this week to meet with civil rights leaders, community leaders, and local law enforcement to address tension in the community.”

    Selectively outraged people ;)

We don't need either one since we're all sure he's guilty :jj:

  8. DinkusMayhem Full Member

you're very selective in who you select to consider selectively outraged. that's it an that's all.
  9. DinkusMayhem Full Member

no, we're all sure he's innocent. you saw those more recent pics of trayvon, didn't you? selective outrage.

If you were running the investigation, you would have done exactly what these investigators did. Recommend a charge. Your superior would have told you that you didn't have enough evidence and you would have let Zimmy go :)
  11. DinkusMayhem Full Member

the feds involvement is good. i doubt that any federal charges would stick, but maybe they'll help the florida fuck-ups figure out whether zimmerman should/can be charged under florida law.
  12. GHP Full Member

    Yes :)
  13. Ambalance Full Member

dude---The Feds can't charge Zimmerman with a civil rights crime unless they can show race was a motive for the crime---what part of that don't you understand??? There is no Federal crime of murder
  14. DinkusMayhem Full Member

i don't blame the police for letting him go. not sure they had much choice. if the police did not, as reported, take blood samples from zimmerman's clothing or take pics of the cuts an bruises he allegedly received, then that's a pretty big fuck up.

If you read the link you would see they are doing just that :)

But so much for the "Hate Crime Only" bullshit, which is my point. Everybody knows shit that they don't know ;)
