Are you fucking kidding me? What in God's name is going on in Orlando? They bitched and complained about what was being offered for Dwight Howard, that it was never enough, and now theyre willing to take Pau and Afflalo, in hopes to trade Pau for other players? Can anyone make sense of this? And how does Bynum end up in Philly? How does Philly agree to this without knowing that Bynum is going to stay there?

I'm not angry, I'm just utterly confused about how these deals go down. Who the fuck is running the Magic?

Its a good deal for the Magic dude. They trade Dwight Howard and get Gasol, who they will then trade for more draft picks. Its call rebuilding a team. When you rebuild you have start young and stock pile draft picks. Good deal for the Lakers and Magic.

Artie's Liver is a Laker hater...dude is just mad they will get much better this year....

Pau should be a lot easier to deal than Dwight. It's not a bad idea for the Magic. Really, they are completely stuck in a corner. The only team he wants to go to is NJ. NJ has nothing left to offer.

The Lakers are desperate to win at least one more championship before the Kobe Bryant freight train finally breaks down. Makes sense

I agree they will get something good in return for Pau Gasol if not a handful of draft picks, face it the Magic are in complete rebuild mode and they will flat out stink for a few years but it has to be done.

If this is true I'll drive to London and pick up Iguodala then drop his ass off in Denver.

Bynum is the inside presence they haven't had since Malone.

The trade details are posted on ESPN...If that is correct Magic would have been better off getting Bynum, a known commodity, even though he has glass knees, than what they got in return.....Orlando waited to long to trade Howard......dumb fucks....

Magic just did a salary dump so basically nothing for them.

76ers get All Star center and shooter in Richardson. Still no chance to compete against Heat, but its a start.

    You'll love Bynum. lmao

FO Bynum. thanks for nothing. bank in every city motherfucker.

They got cap space by dumping Richardson, draft picks, Afflalo, and the young guy from Philly. I wouldn't call that nothing. Teams hat are really bad in the NBA have a better shot at winning a title than those that are kind of good. The teams that are good enough to make the playoffs but never going to compete for a title (NY, Brooklyn, Philly) are stuck there for years. It's no man's land.

Yes I'm a Laker hater. And now looking at the deal, I understand even less what Orlando did. They held out trading Howard because they wanted as much as they could get, and now they get next to nothing. I just don't get it.

As far as the Lakers go, I can only hope Kobe tears his ACL or something like that.
Question: how is the Lakers bench looking vs. the OKC bench? Did they make any changes there. Big factor if you're going to step on OKC. You may have a better starting 5 in the balance vs OKC, but you have to count the bench.

Dude Orlando could have taken Pau Gasol but they decided not to, you know why? Because the magic just dumped a lot of salary and they are hoping to get in a top 3 lottery pick which means they really want to suck on purpose and get a number 1 or number 2 pick.

Hate the Lakers all you want I know I do but they only have a few years left to play for a title. Nash is almost 40, Kobes knees are good for a couple more years if not 3 and they traded a lot of draft picks for Nash so dont worry they will suck in a few years.
  18. Colon Cowboy Full Member

Dont count on it....Dwight will still be here, and his contract will be the only big one in the books....
  19. Douchebag_AZ Full Member

Yeah but they wont be nearly as good as they have been the past decade because they wont have Kobe Bryant arguably the best shooting guard to ever play the game besides Mike Jordan. When you get a Kobe, MJ, Lebron type player its easy to win. Once Kobe runs out of gas The Lakers will be back to a #7 or #8 seed playoff spot. The Lakers should have a nice run for the next few years though or at least until Nash gets tired. I can say this much they have a good chance of getting into the finals now.

And how do you know Dwight will still be there?? He's a free agent next year and do you really think Mark Cuban wont throw a boat load of money his way.

I also wonder why Philly thinks Bynum will stay there.
  21. Douchebag_AZ Full Member

Where else does he go?? The Lakers dont need him anymore.
  22. SorryBoss Full Member

    Because:
    1) He's from the Philly area
    2) The Sixers almost reached the Eastern conference finals last yr
    3) They have a young talented core, of which Bynum will be the focal point
    4) Philly can offer him more than other teams can i.e. the Larry Bird exception.
    5) On paper the 76ers are one of the top 3 teams in the Eastern conference.
    6) Doug Collins.

The Lakers will be able to lure another superstar to par with Dwight....and Cuban can't offer more than the Lakers...
  24. Douchebag_AZ Full Member

We will see dude. They can try and lure who ever but he wont ever do what Kobe helped do.
  25. Colon Cowboy Full Member

I agree that it won't be as easy without Kobe...but you said that the team will suck in a few years and I don't think they will be to bad off....
