Robin's situation?

Perhaps I missed it if someone has posted about this..but I just heard the very cryptic conversation about Robin's health issues..and it sounds as though she may be dealing with having to wear an ostomy bag or a catheter for a long period of time..I have a friend who now has to wear an ostomy bag for the rest of his life....he was horrified at first but has gotten used to it and is thankful that at least he is alive to wear the damned thing....Because she said it was not a life or death issue..I'll bet it is something like this.....very upsetting if in fact this is what she is going to be dealing with....but at least it isn't life threatening....Of course I also could be completely wrong.....too much fee time this morning has me over thinking everything..
But I hope she is alright...

Howard asked if it's from the enemas that she takes. Robin said it's not from that. Howard told her not to shoot water up her asshole. He said he has to give her a lecture. Howard said she has everything in there.
Howard said he's going to blame the enemas. Robin said she went to an Indian healer. Howard asked if the guy started chanting when she walked in. Robin said she might go back and get some Ayahuasca again. Howard said that's probably what got her. He said they probably shoved a rock up her ass. Howard said he may have to pray for her now. Howard said it was so boring when he went to temple with Sandra Bernhard. Howard said he can pray for her tonight since there's no AGT. Howard said it's kind of sad that there isn't any AGT.

If it's "not a death thing," than what could it be? Amputating a leg or something? What could be so unacceptable?

if you have serious health issues and a lot of money, i guess it's worth a shot to try anything.

i read that MCA (not mike d, my bad) tried holistic treatments in addition to the chemo and the surgeries.

It's faked. She is uncomfortable with all the attention Howard's getting so she's making this sound more serious than it really is.

i'm sure every case is unique and has its own set of circumstance.

as long as she gets the real world western medicine treatments, that is. if she pulls a steve jobs and tries to go the holistic approach and only tries western medicine when it's too late, that's on her.

I'm guessing, from her reaction, that the doctor wants to remove the mass and create a stoma (hole) in the abdominal wall through which the bladder will drain into an urostomy bag attached to the outside of the abdomen. I'm sure Robin doesn't want to do this (who would) and is looking for alternatives. She's probably gone to a top NY doctor and really doesn't have any alternatives. I doubt her enemas caused this, but taking Ayahuasca isn't good for anything.

Steve Jobs didn't just try holistic medicine, he had a liver transplant, too. He only tried the holistic approach when all else failed. He wasn't that stupid.

Mike D hasn't had cancer to my knowledge. It was MCA that recently died.

You're right. Mea culpa. I hope Robin doesn't make the same mistake.

That's what I'm guessing. It's sounds like she's in the stage of denial, so that sort of goes along with someone giving you a cancer diagnosis.

At this point, I'm HOPING it's the stoma deal rather than bladder cancer. As I wrote in a previous post, my mother had bladder cancer, and it is one of the worst cancers to get (the mortality rate is very high, and it is VERY fast moving). My mom lasted less than 6 months from diagnosis until she passed away, and she was in a lot better physical shape than Robin (but she was about 10 years older). It was really terrible. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I hope Robin has a full recovery and gets her " normal " life back

Sorry to hear about your Mother. I didn't realize bladder cancer was so awful. These days it seems there are so many cancers they can "cure" if they get to them early and it's sad to remember some cancers are as deadly as ever. I do agree with you, that Robin hasn't done herself any favors with her extreme health regimes over the years.

I am thinking hysterectomy as well.

"Not a death thing" might have just been in reference to the procedure.
