Rome allowed gay marriage but it was called civil unions too. Look what happened to them?

So...the reason the Roman empire failed was due to gay marraige? Some people need to read a little history.
  3. ThisFaceBangsBeth Full Member

Not directly, but indirectly yes. Society has no moral compass anymore.

And all that happened when people were distracted by their animalistic behavior in society. Sound familiar?
  9. ThisFaceBangsBeth Full Member

Don't get me wrong. Any strange attraction other than liking the opposite sex is still a animalistic behavior, but all the more reasons to not expect it though.

Mass has had gay marriage for years. It's one of the most successful states in the country.

Oh and while god hits the red states with tornadoes, floods , hurricanes, has spared Mass from those.

Bullshit. Even non-religious people have moral values. They know the difference between right and wrong, having integrity, telling the truth, responsibility for ones actions, etc. But when morals are taught from a religious code and some fanatic is preaching that the bible says only sex between a man and a woman is acceptable, then you can expect rebellion against those teachings. Personally, I find it reprehensible that certain religious people (and homophobes) don't see the moral injustice of hating a group of people for who they chose to love.

How many religious people use birth control , get divorced, have premarital sex? All violations of bible teachings. Bunch of phoney polyester Christians who pick n choose what they want to follow.

Lots of incest in the bible. Lots of sex references, like "a strange woman's mouth is this and that" or whatever. Wonder if that is where "strange" came from? European men put that shit together, and I don't trust those ancient freaks.

Rome was the first country to have written laws. Looked what happened to it. Better get rid of all laws and return to a state of nature. Rome allowed some of the first minted currencies. Look what happened to it. Better go back to barter trade only. Ancient Greece studied math and made major copntributions to math, look what happened. Better ban math now. Egypt allowed.... (add in your own gems here).

Rome is lovely this time of year.

Actually most historians agree that the reason the Roman Empire fell was because they were too stretched out across the globe in several conflicts with a thinly stretched and expensive military presence everywhere. So your correct but still a fucking idiot.

As for gay marriage whenever some hillbilly Bible thumper stars telling you what the Bible says kindly offer to gun them down for the 50/50 polyblend "God made Adam And Eve not Adam and Steve" T-shirt they are wearing. Just as the Bible commands.

The Roman Empire in the west lasted for about seven hundred years. The United States is not even half as old. I think that gay marriage is the not the reason why the Roman Empire fell, rather, it is the reason why it lasted so long! Based on the history of the Roman Empire, I would argue that it is imperative for the national security of the United States to adopt gay marriage immediately, so that we can endure as long as the Romans did.

I think that if you're trying to base some kind of conclusion one way or the other as to the longevity of an empire based on their views of gay marriage, you're either grasping, vested, or just need more to do with your life.

Rome fell after adopting Christianity and being invaded multiple times then finally sacked by the Germanic tribes. The emperors in Rome became puppets of those of German decent. The date of the "fall" ? Sept 4th A.D. 476. This is the date that the "Germanized" Roman army, under the lead of Odoacer (a barbarian) didn't even bother to kill the Roman emperor, Romulus Augustus, but rather sent him into retirement.

Had nothing to do with a spread out army as the German barbarians already had control of that. Had nothing to do with homosexuals. I did however have everything to do with tall, grey eyed barbarians.
