Romney's Son Gets Booed Off Stage by Paul Supporters

Poor Josh Romney. All of these sacrifices he and his brothers are making on behalf of the country don't seem to be helping sway any Ron Paul supporters:

    http://www.azcentral.com/news/polit...n-josh-romney-boo-by-ron-paul-supporters.html

Supporters of Ron Paul booed the son of presidential hopeful Mitt Romney off the stage Saturday at the Arizona Republican Party convention as he sought to solidify support for his father's nomination.

Hundreds of state GOP members were gathered at Grand Canyon University to elect delegates for the national convention in August in Tampa, which is expected to select Mitt Romney as the official Republican nominee to challenge President Barack Obama.

"We cannot afford four more years of President Obama," said Josh Romney, the third of Mitt Romney's five sons. "We need someone to step in there and turn things around."

But Josh had to stop repeatedly as people booed and yelled for Paul, who has continued campaigning in the Republican primary. All other challengers, including Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich, have dropped out of the race, and Romney has a commanding lead over Paul in the estimated delegate count.

But Paul supporters have begun flooding state conventions, recently winning control of delegate majorities in Nevada and Maine.

Josh tried to appease the crowd, taking a minute to recognize his father's former challengers.
"I recognize how hard it is to run for president, the sacrifice those men and women made running for president," he said. "It's a great contribution they've made to the party."

He recapped his father's background of turning around failing companies, rehabilitating the Salt Lake City Olympics organization and balancing the budget as governor of Massachusetts. Josh Romney said his dad stepped up to the added challenges of taking care of the family after his wife, Ann, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

But as Josh wrapped up, with an admonition to choose the preferred slate of Mitt Romney delegates, the crowd exploded with competing boos and cheers, cutting him short.

Some attendees said they heard Paul supporters chanting outside that Mitt Romney is "the white Obama."

It'd b be hilarious if his son tried to talk about where he would postion ships around Iran like his old man, puffing out his chest from the sidelines.

How many sons did Romney's concubine spit out?

How many served in the military?

    Exactly!

Why do Romney's sons hate America??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

If Romney had a kid serving it would probably sway the election a little. He would be entitled to milk that shit all day. Just a little coast gurad action would've done the trick.

Actually, it wasnt all Ron Paul supporters that booed him.. some of the people Booing were even romney supporters. The fact is he was breaking the rules of the party by asking delegates to commit to sign something or something like that, so people booed.. not just Ron Paul supporters but just people. Now grated probably a majority of people there were Ron Paul supporters so yeah...

Always entertaining to watch Ron Paul and his supporters act as if they are relevant.

I suppose you're "relevant" because you blindly support whatever scumbag the GOP decides to run?

When you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything.
  12. FatesWebb Full Member

If we already have the majority of delegates in multiple states, already you would have to admit that we have relevance. Sure we may not win the nominee, but with all of those supporters at the states and rnc helping to shape the republican platform, still there is relevance. I do however like the fact that there is a bit of complacency from the establishment republicans, because that makes it easier for the Paul supporters to push their agenda.

Sorry, but I don't blindly support anyone who has an 'R' next to his or her name.

Your devotion to Ron Paul is admirable on a certain level but sooner or later you are going to need to realize that Paul would be better off running as a Libertarian. He's not going to convince Conservatives who believe in a strong national defense and believe in American Exceptionalism that America is the problem in this world.
  14. VacateTheWord Full Member

Correct me if I'm wrong, but he did better in '08 than he did this time around and in 2008 he had no impact on the party platform.

I agree with a lot of what Ron Paul has to say when it comes to the economy and fiscal issues but he goes completely off the rails when it comes to national security. If Ron Paul insists on running in 2016 he should run as a Libertarian - he can run again as a Republican but he's not building a coalition that is going to impact the GOP.
  15. FatesWebb Full Member

Actually, yeah your incorrect, he has much more support this time around. http://www.capitalfreepress.com/4732-updated-ron-paul-votes-chart/
and No, it is speculated that he will not run again, and simply retire from politics.

Yes you do. The names just keep changing since you jump on whoever the frontrunner of the R trains bandwagon is at the time.

Bullshit... you hop on whoever is the current frontrunner. You did it in 2008 and you've been doing it all through this election.

Spare me your admiration. Maybe you're too young to remember the 1988 election, but that' s exactly what he did. Do you know who heard his message? Nobody. When was the last time a Libertarian candidate was allowed into a debate? Never. He's been elected to congress 12 times as a Republican. Like it, or not, he has every right to run as a Republican and he will continue to do so until the convention. He's not going away without a fight, like all of the losers you formerly supported.
Now explain to everyone how borrowing money from China to station our military in 900 bases around the globe equates to strengthening our national defense. While you're at it, tell us how "American Exceptionalism" means policing the world. And why he garners more support from the troops than ALL OTHER CANDIDATES COMBINED!

Of course you're wrong... when have you ever been right? No impact on the party platform? Have you heard of the grassroots movement known as the Tea Party? Whom do you think planted that grass?
  18. mcopley Full Member

Our National security will be much safer with our troops home for national defense then out "Nation building". The term "blowback" is something America doesn't understand. "Yeah let's arm the Middle East" like everybody has all thru history and failed at. Let's blow up Iraq and build it back up. Ron Paul will end this war in Afghanistan, Romney will keep us there and you know it. Are you going to be all for the Afghanistan war if Romney was to win or will you still hope America loses?

I'm pretty sure both obama, and Romney will not only stay in Afghanistan, but also attack Iran,

    I stand corrected.

Nevertheless, my point still stands that he has had zero impact on the party platform and alienates himself every time he has taken to the stage at debates and started in with the "we got what we deserved on 9/11" garbage.
  21. VacateTheWord Full Member

As I've said - I'll vote for the most electable Conservative on the ticket and, more importantly, vote for the individual who has the best chance of outing the current disaster occupying the White House.
  22. VacateTheWord Full Member

Hey - you are beginning to understand our electoral system!

The primaries are over and we are left with two choices.

I remember the '88 election but I don't remember Ron Paul at that time.

I agree to a point with your assertion that is is rather pointless to run as a Libertarian and get shut out of debates and so on. But Ron Paul's ideology is Libertarian, not Conservative. I don't care what party he joins but at the end of the day he will never garner more than a handful of delegates that his followers will think makes him a powerful man heading into the convention but they won't mean anything more than his name being mentioned on the floor a few times. If he wants to keep running to influence the Republican platform then God bless him but it's become a pointless exercise. Ron Paul has become a one-trick pony who shoehorns spending overseas into every question.

As for our national security - I agree that we should not be the policeman of the world but Ron Paul's national security consists of a pre-World War I isolationism. As much as I would like to think that we could just station our entire military at home and ignore what goes on in the rest of the world history tells us that that is no longer possible. Eventually we will be dragged into something.

I was at the 9/12 Tea Party rally in Washington DC and Ron Paul was nowhere to be found - why is that?

So which branch of the military did any of Romney's sons serve in again?

    None?

    Wow!

Why do Romney's sons hate America?

Country First, dontcha know. Their greatest service to the country is helping him get elected. Being enlisted with Mitt means they're out there strategizing liberal attack ads and dodging their dad's landmines every day.

Are these five assholes also going to go around buying companies, only to break them up, sell the pieces for a profit and throw good, hard-working Americans out of work like their father did?

Why do these Mormon cock-suckers hate America so much?
