We dont like pant-shitters in the rugby union. Only in rugby league do you find ass-fingerers and hotel lobby shitters. I bet they rathole pinecones in the league too.
Rugby Union has no time for that because they are too concerned with rucking & mauling.

USA shit the bed yesterday, without anyone's ass getting fingered. Now we deal with the ass-eating cannibals of Uruguay.

The USA is about to get something shoved up their ass if they lose their World Cup berth.

Not a very busy weekend for rugby.

Very exciting game at 3am this morning. #1 ranked in the world team New Zealand takes on #3 Australia.

Since August last year, the All Blacks have held the position as the number one ranked team in the world, dethroning South Africa as the IRB's recognised 1st spot on the international ladder.

If Australia end a 23 year, 10 match losing streak against the All Blacks at Eden Park, they will knock New Zealand off top spot.

The Wallabies however, currently third in the world, can only move up a maximum of one spot either way, with the South African Springboks currently second in the world.

The World Champions will claim the top rate on an All Blacks loss, whereras if the Wallabies achieve the unthinkable and defeat New Zealand by more than 15, they would leap-frog the All Blacks into second and consign the defending Tri Nations champions to third position on the IRB rankings.

The Wallabies were second in the world after defeating South Africa last year, but the Springboks regained it a week later with a thrashing of Australia.

Game is on Justin.tv on a bunch of channels @ 3am EST:

    /sportzone001
    /namik2
    /namikstudio

According to the bookies, the AllBlacks are going to destroy the Wallabies by 19 points.
I hope it's closer than that, but if I was to bet the game I would have to take the All Blacks. The Haka alone is worth a couple of points.

    Should be a good one!!!

Steyn had a monster game! A try, a conversion, and 8 kicks! WOW! 31 points to send the All Blacks packing. Matfield was good too as usual.

Fantastic sport. Im 31 now been playin for just over 20 years.(hooker or scrum half)

Im amazed to read you guys are into it. I never thought rugby had any presence in the states. It allways suprised me why you guys were not eating it up as every American I ever met loved their contact sports.

I can see your points about coverage on your networks though. We do it differently over here. If they stopped mid game for an advert the tv execs would get shot.;)

Best rugby announcing I ever heard from the Alternative Rugby Commentary. Some guy named Sellers? does highlights every week or so. Funny shit! Good like Ferrall doing hockey good!

Good to have this thread back.

I never watched womens rugby. I am into the NRL and the AFL, but the time difference is pretty extreme.

I like Sydney in the NRL and Western in the AFL. Those were the 2 home teams that I saw in person.

USA's chicks play England's beeotches Saturday. The USA women's team looks tough, but they need to play tough if they want to beat England.

Currie Cup finals Saturday @11am. Natal Sharks v Western Province [Usual links]

Western Province know that they need to beat the Sharks in Saturday's Currie Cup final or they will be called chokers having reached the Super14 and Currie Cup final and won nothing. Blue Bulls lost to the Sharks in the semis so I'm putting my $$$ on the Sharks.

Interesting documentary on a sport with more history than baseball!

If they are going to change the NFL, I would rather see the NFL look more like rugby than the NBA. Rugby has ONE referee and 2 side judges for 30 men. The game doesnt stop every 2 minutes for flags/fouls. While the NFL is looking to slow games down with ticky tack fouls, (like what ruined the NBA) rugby is moving faster still. Rugby players dont need a bunch of rules teaching them how to tackle safely. NFL helmets are weapons and players wearing them feel invincible which is why they launch themselves like missles, using their head to lead. Rugby players cannot launch themselves like missles (and they wouldnt want to), they have to use their arms to tackle, and they cant lift a player up and slam them down. The player has to be let down safely. They police themselves for the most part. If the NFL keeps becoming like the NBA, Im fucking done. The NFL has slowed the game down with rules in the past 30 years. I call it pussification. I say let em play NFL without those weaponized helmets so we can lose these dumb helmet to helmet rules. More bloody noses, black eyes, and cauliflour ears = more gooder! The Blood Bin is a great addition too.
These assholes are ruining all the cool shit I grew up with!!!!

Heineken Cup resumes this weekend. Games are showing up on my dvr. Fox SoccerPlus is no Setanta when it comes to pro rugby, but it'll have to do for American fans.

In the Euro leagues I'm a Munster fan. Internationally, I love the All Blacks. I follow the Eagles of course and would love it if we could somehow become a top tier nation, but not holding breath for that.

Never played or even saw the game in my youth. Just stumbled upon it as a spectator while on vacation in NZ during the 2005 Lions tour. It was a total accident that my trip was booked then, but some Kiwi friends taught me what I was looking at while we watched the games and I became hooked on Rugby as a spectator sport right then.

Rugby Union is a really cool sport. I watch 2-3 games a week all year round and I'm still learning nuances all the time. Great stuff, and it is a shame it couldn't catch on here, but the way they broadcast pro sports in this country, they'd ruin it anyway.

    Cheers.
