Good. I'm glad you like SA because it means we can argue for the next for the next 6 months.

The only way the USA is ever going to improve is helping a establish a varsity model instead of this "club" b.s. that has no chance of catching on here. That is the only way to get more good athletes playing in h.s. and college. The USRFU seems to have no idea how to accomplish this so I don't think we have any chance of being anything other than a 3rd tier nation for a long time.

Of course we can always hope for a little more of this:

by the way you do know the All Blacks beat the Boks 3three straight last year and won the Tri-nations with a record of 6-0. Just checking. 2007 was a long time ago....although 2009 was a scary reminder of what the boks can field. They did a shitty job of adapting to the rules changes last year and it got them beat. We'll see if that numnuts DeVilliers has learned anthing. They're NOT going to win the world cup this year just drawing penalties in the ruck and watching Steyn bang home 60m kicks all day.

Thank god the rules changes have increased the effectiveness of ball-in-hand teams like the All Blacks. And don't look past Aus and England, both of whom have looked a lot better in the last 6 months.

I'd love it if Ireland could mount a serious challenge, but I don't see it.

Ireland's fuckin amazing! ODriscoll is fun to watch.

I'd hate to say "must win" already but the Bulls gotta beat the Lions this week. They need these divisional games, especially against bad teams like the Lions. Then they play the beatable Hurricanes but then get the Crusaders off a bye week. Bulls are in big trouble anyway since Steenkamp is out for a few weeks. They face an uphill climb this year... maybe the new format will help them, but only if they win their South African games.

Usual links. DTV is great. I dont know how I lived this long without a DVR.

Any of you guys watch the NRL?

I have been to a game in Sydney. The NFL talks about a 18 games schedule. The NRL already started and pretty much goes until August or September including playoffs. These guys don't wear the protection the NFL players wear, but the hitting is a little less, still!!!

Munster/Leinster was off the fuckin hook! O'Driscoll gets carded in the 4th quarter which shocked me but then OGara's amazing kick as time ended just bitch slapped me! That was fucking incredible rugby!

Bulls still havent been hitting on all cylinders. They're in BIG trouble this week. The Crusaders have had an extra week to prepare & heal up and they're gonna be ready, however Matfield is playing better so maybe the rest of the Bulls will follow.
The Bulls have 2 games against the Sharks at the end of the year. They need to win those games if they want the wildcard since the Sharks are the only real threat in the division.

Insane I know. Since my disability retirement I actually stay up, or set an alarm to watch these games. I fuckin love my DirectTV DVR. I saved a bunch of games on there. I still have 2 games from the weekend to watch on my DVR.

Another option is downloading the games. If you can get an invite from www.diwana.org, you can access ALL the rugby games. I'm thinking you may need a minimum post count to register but try anyway. Getting an invite to diwana.org gets you access to www.acrossthetasman.com where the games are at. High def and everything. Great site.

Bulls are hurtin. The 2 upcoming Sharks games will be the Bulls season. Victor is slow on defense. Does he really need to play 80 minutes? He missed a big tackle at the end because he was tired. Steenkamp's injury is hurting the team too. Habana seems to finally be missed this year. They need to make changes...

Crusaders point diff is off the meter! 147!! and the closest team is the Reds with 77. WOW!They both have 35 points though.
  15. JUST1COMMENT Full Member

Really appreciate all of the info.

The Crusaders are unstoppable. It's sick to think they're this good without McCaw (I know he played a bit last week, but they didn't even need him) and Carter.
  16. DJEvelEd Full Member

My new favorite player is Ben Daley. He's the Red's #1. He got knocked out from a nasty Waratahs elbow, he lays on the ground for a minute, players are still playing around him, one even tries to wake him as he runs by, then Daley gets up and makes a tackle and then finally after the play is over, Daley falls into the post, face totally covered in blood, he has rubbery legs and he's being held up by his teammates, medics sopping up all the blood, Daley stumbles off the field like a drunk. Fuckin RUGBY! No sport like it!
This is after Drew Mitchell's foot was facing the wrong way and he was driven off the field sucking on some kinda morphine or marijuana lollipop.
Reds / Waratahs rivalry dates back to the 1800's! Damn! The Reds may be my new favorite Aussie squad, if only because of Daley...

What happened to the Crusaders? That was a hell of a game too though...

Bulls play in about an hour and they got ANOTHER must win. They have played well with their bakks against the wall. Bakks (get it?) eh. Go BULLS!!!!

Fuck the Stormers. They can have the South African Division. They wont have it for long. They haven't allowed a try from an Aussie team in 2 games, but that's Aussie teams and that wont last for long.
