    NEW YORK Jan 4 (Reuters) - Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F - news) will begin offering Sirius Satellite Radio (Nasdaq:SIRI - news) as a factory-installed option in up to 1 million vehicles over two years beginning this summer, the companies said on Tuesday.

    Ford in October said it would put Sirius in about 20 vehicle lines but did not set a subscriber target.

    Janco Partners analyst April Horace said Ford's 1 million target for its 2006 and 2007 models was a positive sign for Sirius, which ended 2004 with about 1.1 million customers.

    "By stating they're going to go into 1 million vehicles and identifying the vehicles, Ford is giving more color and clarity about its satellite radio plans," Horace said.

    This is great news to see/hear. Sirius is making strong moves and nothing but good things are happening.

    I've had Sirius Radio since November and I am NEVER giving it up. Here's the thing, I don't care if Howard EVER comes to Sirius, the product is that strong without him. With him, it's a slam dunk.

    There are rumors of an Ipod with satellite radio capability.

    I just got good information that this is not the case. The idea was on the table but got scratched off. It is not on Apple's roadmap for now.
