Soundgarden was from Seattle and they had some incredible tracks.

right on Ivan, yea actually i got hip to Soundgarden from an interview Bruce Dickenson had when asked what his favorite new music was back about 1989, also Alice in Chains is one of my very favorites, and a little band named Mother Love Bone who after the singer died from heroin became Pearl Jam, (whom I hate) but MLB had the potential to be the Beatles of that generation. which I guess pearl jam was, but I fucking hate Pearl jam, the originators of "Cow Metal" I call it Cow Metal becasue the singers all sound like they are mooing, bands like Creed and 3 days grace and canukleback I fuckign hate all that shit, but my 80s bands were just as much to blame, what was the last great priest or Maiden album that was put out?

thats why I love MonsterMagnet they stick to thier guns and keep making good music.

No argument there... oh and I too loved MLB.

one of the reasons I hate heroin so much, being 21 in 1989 in Portland Oregon, before any of those band were signed they would play Satyricon which was sort of like the CBGB, a run down rat bar and I remember on a wednesday night, Soundgarden, MLB and Alice iN Chains all on the same bill, this is the place Green Day played to 13 people before Dookie became a big deal, where White Zombie played to like 20 people... man good times baby

i remember going to CBGBs YEARS ago and seeing this one really awesome band. drummer had a tiny little drumset, but was fast as all hell with the double-bass. 2 guitar players that were identical twins. and the singer was a little black dude that sounded like satan -- they were freakin' incredible, but i've got no clue who they were.

I never laughed so hard as I did when I got double brutal, you cant help but laugh and head bang at the same time.... I like "give me your clothes your shoes and your motorcycle"

Im really amazed that with the ammount of famous bands, and I mean FUCKING FAMOUS bands that came thru there that no one came thru to save the place, or relocate it, I mean blondie, ramones, talking heads, bruce springsteen, NO ONE could step up to the plate to get them out of trouble? CBGB was a monument, where 70's punk started it would be like the whiskey a go go in LA shutting down, its a god damn shame, even my beloved Satyricon was torn down... SAVE OUR TRASH BARS!

i thought there was some attempt to try and save it a while ago?? maybe not, but i thought there was something.

was definitely interesting, cause i was never in a place like that before.

He brought this up recently on his new show too, he said the name of the band was Mercyful Fate, but it's actually Venom. The song's called Buried Alive. Here ya go.....

^Now ironically, when Madonna left Carcass to pursue a solo career, Carcass split up and some of the remaining members went on to form "Arch Enemy" which is now fronted by an even scarier skinny blonde bitch than Madonna.......

Speaking of Carcass covers of "Corporal Jigsore Quandary" This might be one of my favorites by Austraila's The Berzerker.

If anyone's interested KOLOSS by Meshuggah came out yesterday. They went back to mostly slow polyrhythmic grooves, but I'm really liking the album.

A few new ones I got from www.demonoid.me are: Cannibal Corpse - Torture (Deluxe Edition), Buck Satan And The 666 Shooters - Bikers Welcome Ladies Drink For Free. Also The Mentors have a tribute cd coming out with two new songs, and cover songs including one by Guns N Roses.

In honor of spring/soon to be summer.....best video EVER.....to be completely irrelevant to and inappropriate for the song.

Apparently, you can put Swedish bikini models washing a hummer with just about ANY kind of music and make it work......
