he's the kind of player you like when he's on your team and think he's a douche when he's not....for good reason

    Time for panic button.

Eh....ugly ugly start but a tad early to panic

They'll be ok....the tigers lineup is tough...12 runs will beat everybody else

But sports talk radio will be torture :jj2:

Boston giving up 26 runs in first 3 games....Don't know what they were thinking when they didn't sign anybody to pitch in the off season...They can't pitch and the Phillies can't hit....
  11. Colon Cowboy Full Member

    Yeah Tigers lineup is stacked....

What would signing a pitcher mean? beckett and buchholz would be in the rotation regardless.

But if the bullpen meltdown continues they may be forced to move bard back to the pen

@ESPNStatsInfo: 2nd time in MLB history that both the Red Sox and Yankees started 0-3; other was 1966, when New York finished last and Boston 2nd-to-last.

What would signing a pitcher mean?...they have some dude named Felix Doubront trying to get the Sox first win of the season pitching tomorrow...and converted reliever Daniel Bard pitching the next day....aside from Lester starting rotation is iffy....

I may be nuts but I think both bard and dubront will be solid....but they're still green so there will be growing pains...and they have aaron cook waiting to step in and he was arguably their best pitcher this spring

And buchholz, if he stays healthy, is a number 2....he didn't have it today...it happens....beckett, I'm worried about because he's getting older and has that thumb issue
  17. Colon Cowboy Full Member

Good thing is they have Toronto next series and they will sending out there 4 and 5 also......we'll see how Doubront pitches tomorrow, and yeah Buchholz is definitely a #2, when healthy....

He injured his thumb opening a beer bottle.

After a solid series against Tampa, the Sox got their friggin heads bashed in with their best 2 guys on the mound. Texas is definitely still the team to beat in the AL so far. Long season, but still a bunch of locker room bullshit and poor play. I don't see them having a mid season resurgence like they did last year, not with Ellsbury on the shelf and the bullpen as shaky as it is..

yeah, this isn't going well, lol...i've decided valentine is an idiot...and i was originally behind his hiring, though i was never happy about francona being let go...a third of an ugly season and he's fired..wait til we have a full season of ugliness

this team will still win plenty of games...even without ellsbury they can still hit and they don;t have to play detroit and texas 18 times each

When does Bobby V get fired?

Is Bobby V getting killed up there or what?
  24. Syxxpac78 Full Member

I think the Bobby V thing was kind of unfair from the beginning. Not like he had Tito canned so he could take his job. Nice to see Middlebrooks playing well and this prob means that Youk will be offloaded at the end of this season or possibly at the all star break. Other than that, the Sox have been decimated by injuries again and their starting pitching blows. I still have faith, but I just don't see us making a run at any point...3rd place sounds about right

Losing two of three to Kansas City? Embarrassing and pathetic.

Btw, Rest In Peace Carl Beane. The only two voices I have heard in my lifetime over the PA system at Fenway Park were Sherm Feller and him. Sad day.
