Beckett needs to step up tonight. Sox have won 4 in a row.......I don't mind the golf, athletes and especially pitchers are creatures of habit. He did the wrong thing by not owning the situation, saying sorry and moving on.

the problem is that nobody knows exactly what the the situation was....this is where francona was better than valentine, with terry this shit is taken care of so the media is given the story the team wants out there, not a million conflicting reasons for every little team thing that arises...valentine is great for sports talk radio, because it appears nobody has a clue what the fuck is going on

Looks like Middlebrooks as 3B job so do you think Red Sox would take Blanton for Youkilis?

the sox will definitely be shopping youk but i think it would take an injury to a starter to make that deal right now...buchholtz has been terrible but dice-k is almost ready to come back so the sox actually have too much starting pitching at the moment

Can't have enough starting pitching and Dice K is an unknown. Blanton is at least an innings eater which would help the Red Sox shit bullpen.

i'm not saying he wouldn't help....i'm just saying the sox would have to make a few other moves before they'd make that or any other deal....my guess is they'd try to deal him for prospects

Probably get mid level prospect, but Youkilis has been hitting like shit. Good fit in Philly as he can replace Polanco and help out at 1B.

My guess is that the Sox do dangle Youklis at the break, but only if they can get something to help now (depending on their record) or the future (most likely scenario). The Phils aren't doing so hot these days so they could very well be sellers too. I would def want a decent starting pitcher prospect and maybe a utility player for Youk.

Big series for the Sox tonight against the Orioles. Sox need to keep pushing forward and get to .500 which can start tonight!

Middlebrooks looks like the real deal and they have no spot for Youkilis so I'm sure he will be dealt. Perfect spot in Philly as they need help at 1B and 3B along with a guy that can get on base.

Another win last night, let's see of Doubront can keep it up and get them over .500
