The GOP ploy to use soldiers as a political prop was a genius move

Truth be told, you've got to give them credit.

No matter how many times a Democrat offers praise, support, dramatically increases benefits, etc, they get zero credit or recognition for it. Any military action, under any circumstance, no matter how successful or justified, under a Democratic President is ridiculed

No matter how many Republicans dodge the draft, refused to serve, no matter how much neglect they do under their watch (lack of body armor, rundown rehab hospitals, etc), no matter how many times they send other people's children to be killed in bullshit or unprepared deployments, no matter the costs, the casualties, the lack of clear exit strategy... they are the party that "supports the military" that is "pro-soldier", etc.

Scoreboard. The truth is most of the soldiers themselves think this way too.

You just know that behind scenes, draft dodgers like Bush, Limbaugh, Cheney, Gingrich, Hannity, Nugent, O'Reilly, Donald Trump and countless others are laughing their asses off at how successfully they pulled off this monumental bullshit.

Democrats can learn a lesson or two from this nonsense.

"I won't raise a single question or concern if my son is killed in any military action our government decides, so long as it's a Republican that orders the deployment because, unlike those terrorist-supporting Democrats, they support us military folks"
