It was for a 4th rounder this year and a 7 next year.

Well Rhodes is a good pick up for losing Rolle.... Rolle is now the highest paid safety

I always thought Rolle was a very overrated guy, I think Adrian Wilson is the much better safety. IF Rhodes wants to play I don't think you are downgrading at all.

Rolle is a play maker I will say that and a good one but thats about it ..He came out of the draft as a Corner back and got burned so much the first season they sent moved him to safety he is still developing but he is no Ed Reed nor is he a Adrian Wilson type safety not worth the money the Giants gave him hopefully Rhodes fill his shoes well..

I love Jet fans. Less then one year ago Rex was comparing Rhodes to Ed Reed (http://www.usaplayers.com/news/2010...-rhodes-to-arizona-for-draft-picks-13415.html). Now he does not see a future with him and he is playing his "gut".

Which is it.. Is he playing his gut by releasing him or was he playing his gut by comparing him to Ed Reed?

I thought you gave up on the Jets? Oh yeah, that was when they were losing. Sorry bro, I forgot!

So the Jets are a better team WITHOUT Rhodes?

I guess you also think that the Jets are a better team without TJ, riiiiight? :jj:

I think Rhodes will be a good fit for the Cardinals. I thought he was a good player, but he whined when he was bench. That is usually not good for the clubhouse.

The Jets need to address a mentoring QB for Sanchez. Pennington is staying with the Dolphins, so he is out.

That Cromartie guy is a character. He has so many kids and mothers all over the country. Hopefully he plays better on the field than in the bedroom. :D

Don't pay attention to Queen, he is such a big dolphin fan he thought they won 2 games in 2007. he also has tols us how much Thomas Jones sucks but now that he is gone he's great.

I don't like our moves so far this offseason. I'm ok w/ the Rhodes deal, talent wise he's up there w/ the best of them but he just wasn't getting it done. I think he'll have a great year w/ something to prove in Ari.

I hate letting Jones go especially in the final year of his deal in an uncapped year- we don't know if Greene can take the pounding of 16 games or if Leon will be healthy and only tendering Leon w/ a 2 we don't know if Leon will be here.

I like the re-signing of Hartsock, he's a good blocking TE that we need. I'm worried about Cromartie but he is saying all the right things- hopefully he does all the right things and that could be a good move.

Overall though as of today I don't think we are as good as we were in January but it's still early in the offseason.

Wallace Wright signed w/ Carolina, it might not sound like a big loss but he was an excellent special teamer.

The Jets could use a durable running back and will need a new good leader to step up. Jones is now a KC Chief. What a mistake letting him go. Hopefully, the Jets are planning something good if they gave up on Mr. Jones.

I held out small hope we could re-sign Jones but that's over w/. We will definitely need another RB.

I like the Jets getting Cromartie but them paying his child support is ridiculous. Maybe they can hire Shawn Kemp as an assistant coach

I thought I read they just gave him an advance on his money, not a huge deal..

It will be interesting to see where LT goes. Probably not a great fit for the Jets at this time, but NY could be desperate.

I think the Jets gave Cromartie some money to pay for his honeys/kids. :D I think that is part of his salary.
  20. StumpMerrill Full Member

You are correct, they just shuffled money they would have paid him during the season to now so he could take care of his "affairs".
  21. WhatRUSaying Full Member

The Jets might have an interest for LT. I don't know about this!!!!

The Jets do replace Rhodes or did they.

The Jets announced tonight that they have reached an agreement in principle to sign safety Brodney Pool.

Pool, a potential restricted free agent, was not tendered by Cleveland, so the Jets won't owe the Browns compensation.

After trading Kerry Rhodes to the Arizona Cardinals last Saturday, the Green & White moved quickly to pick up another safety. The 6'2", 210-pound Pool had four interceptions last season in Cleveland and has totaled 11 over the course of his five-year career. A second-round pick out of Oklahoma in 2005, Pool started 49 games for the Browns and has 34 career PDs.

it was Pool's end zone hit on TE Chris Baker with 59 seconds to play in the Jets' Game 8 at Cleveland in 2006 that was not called a forceout by officials and as a result secured the Browns' 20-13 victory.
