Now I see why Stamkos is on pace for 60 goals. The guy is a fucking cherry picker.

Poni scores to make it 1-0 NJ.

Ben Bishop to the Senators. Not bad. He's a big guy. He's not spectacular but I think he'll be more of a reliable backup than Auld.

Damn Devils played like bums today. If everything broke right this weekend the Devils could've cut the Rangers lead to 4 points with a win at MSG tomorrow. That dream is dead. There is a better chance of ALC losing his virginity in the next 5 years than the Devils catching the Rangers now. Tomorrow's game will still be fun though.

Best case scenario for NJ is to have the Pens and Flyers finish 4-5 and kill each other and the Devils get the 6 seed and play Winnipeg or Florida.

Bryzgalov still blows, but another comeback win down 3-0. Read his first career shootout goal wins it.

I am surprised that the Caps have not made a deal yet. I know their division is not that great, but still.

Habs blew a 2-0 lead and now the Panthers lead them 3-2. Panthers with their gross uniforms.

Stamkos has actually improved his defensive game. He is still 22 years old. He has a lot going for him. If I am the Bolts I would actually do bad the rest of the way. I heard that they have 4 picks in the first 2 rounds. They could build a good team in a hurry.

I heard Sam Rosen and Mike Keenan interviewed and both of them don't think that Nash will end up as a Ranger, but who knows.

Sanford played great for the Jackets in the first 2 periods, but could not stop the Pens in the 3rd. Thiessen wins his first for the Pens. Pens don't play until Weds at Dallas.

What a job by the Stars as they trailed 2-0 to the Canucks and beat them. Ribeiro tied it late and Eriksson wins it in OT.

Isles and Sens tied at 1. Isles dominated that first and only got the one goal.

    Sharks lead the Wild 2-1.

Another game where the Flyers have at least 7 PPs!!!!! The Flyers lead the league in PPs but I guess it's because they work so much harder than every other team.

I guess it pays off to have a coach that teaches diving because the these newb refs aren't calling them for flopping around. It's a joke and the Flyers are an embarrassment, from their goonery to their diving.

The Blues doing it the way they want. Really building their team through the draft. A good portion of the Blues team were their picks. They have done a tremendous job this year and not far from the Wings for the top spot.

Bishop was a free agent, so the Blues could afford to deal him. I thought they could have gotten more, but not bad for them.

Turris did not get suspended for this hit on Corvo.

Once again the league does not suspend guys that don't have a history. This should have been a suspension IMHO.

    Any thoughts?

    Sens lead the Isles 2-1.

Looking forward to the Hawks/Ducks coming up in 20 minutes.

Do the Flyers really have the most power plays in the league? I was looking for that stat, but could not find it.

Hawks just struck for the first one. 1-0 Hawks lead the Ducks. Ducks look like they are home for the first time in 15 days. Oh wait. :D

Isles might be sellers after their costly loss in Ottawa.

Panthers lead the Habs 4-2 with less than 3 to play.

Sharks and Wild still tied at 2 in the 2nd. Big game for both teams.

The Flyers lead the NHL with 268 PP opportunities, the next closest team are the Wings/Jackets who are tied with 234 PP opportunities.

The Flyers also lead the league in PP goals with 53. The second closest team is Vancouver with 48 PP goals in 44 LESS PP opportunities!

It explains alot. The Flyers have a shit defense without Pronger and 2 HORRIBLE goalies but they dive around, like they were taught by Laviolette, and they get the PPs that allow them to change the momentum of games.....like they did last night in Calgary. I actually got home in time to watch the game so I got to witness it first hand. They are a disgrace.

I watched the first 2 periods of the Flyers/Flames game last night. It was a big win for Philly and a tough one for the Flames. The Flyers are going to have difficulty going far if they get bad goaltending as they have lately.

Big disputed goal took forever in Anaheim. The Ducks to get the call and goal. A late goal ties it at 1.

Sharks and Wild are worth a look as the 3rd is about to start. The Sharks coach got hurt.

I'll hunt Sather down if he trade's MDZ. Johnson couldn't tie Michael's skates. I'm guessing that there is another team altogether that they've been talking to.
  17. johnni44 Full Member

I didn't see the rolled eyes but know for sure you're joking.
  18. johnni44 Full Member

It's official....Nash is going nowhere as I predicted.
He's already at the morning skate for Columbus. Clearly they are asking way too much
for him from both Toronto and NY. Nice try anyway Howson.

In minor news the Flying Kostitsyn's are reunited. Wooopty doooo.

Hmmm. I usually can't wait for this day... but it's been a snooze fest so far.
  20. mikesbandit Full Member

just make the league a no-hitter if you want to suspend a player for this. Initial contact is away from the boards, both players are off balance.
  21. johnni44 Full Member

No one is going anywhere today and TSN can now have their 45 analysts break down the Kostitsyn and Gilbert blockbuster deals.

"Tom Gilbert going to the Wild is a great trade. He fills a need that he wasn't able to fill in Edmonton. He'll fit into Yeo's system. Great trade. Now here's a 5 minute featurette on Tom Gilbert to fill time"

This Trade Deadline Day has been really weak so far. TSN just announced a deal which involves minor leaguers and a player not on a teams roster. Leafs involved in this deal.

Deadline ending in 1 hours and 20 minutes or so. Maybe something will happen late because not much going on.
I am still surprised the Kings did not go for more offense. They are going to need it.

Tampa could be a dangerous team down the road with all their draft picks. Stevie Y doing some stuff down there.

    Bad news for the Caps

    ESPN.com

The Washington Capitals have placed center Nicklas Backstrom on the long-term injured list, starting what could be a busy day at the NHL trade deadline.

Backstrom has been out with a concussion since Jan. 3, when he was elbowed by Rene Bourque in a game against Calgary.
Monday's move is retroactive to Jan. 4 and would give the Capitals about $7.6 million in salary cap space if Backstrom misses the rest of the regular season.
The Capitals expected to be a contender for the Stanley Cup again this season. Instead, they sat in ninth place in the Eastern Conference and third in the Southeast Division as the 3 p.m. ET deadline approached.
  24. WhatRUSaying Full Member

I disagree with you. I thought Turris left his feet on this one and deserves a suspension. Once again Turris does not have bad reputation as a dirty player, so he does not get a suspension.

They should not have games on the deadline day, but since little has happened not the worst thing in the world.

    TEAMS TIME (ET)
New Jersey at NY Rangers 7:30 PM NBCSN
Los Angeles at Nashville 8:00 PM
    Edmonton at Winnipeg 8:30 PM
    Anaheim at Colorado 9:00 PM
St. Louis at Calgary 9:00 PM

    Trades picking up a little:

    Oduya going to the Hawks.
    Winnick going to the Sharks.
    Pahlsson going to the Canucks.
    Gilroy going to the Sens.
Nash is 50/50 if he gets dealt according to TSN.

    Here is the tracker

Did anyone just see that blonde chick on TSN? OMG I forgot her name and did not see her on their website? She had a Russian last name. Smoking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
