What is the deal with the Caps and Sabres!! They really don't want that 8 spot. The Caps lose to the Bolts yesterday and now the Leafs are leading the Sabres 3-0.

The Rangers lead the Flyers 4-0. Barring a sick comeback the Rangers will get the 1 seed. A golden opportunity for the Pens to extend their lead over Philly by 3 points.

I am not sure that NBC will get rid of Mad Mike. As much as he is hated, he generates publicity for NBC. Even HNIC sometimes shows his arguments with his colleagues on NBC.

I think Don Cherry sucks and even the diehard supporters for him knows he is a joke. Yet, people want to watch him for some reason. Mad Mike provides that for the viewers on NBC and we all know he sucks.

After the Pittsburgh Penguins' morning skate Tuesday at TD Garden, star center Sidney Crosby was asked if he wanted to respond to recent comments NHL on NBC analyst Mike Milbury made about the perennial All-Star in the aftermath of Sunday's Pittsburgh-Philadelphia game.

Milbury used comments in a Monday morning radio interview to describe Crosby's play as dishonest. Milbury has since apologized for those comments.

"I reached out to (Pittsburgh president) David Morehouse and the Penguins about the comments I made yesterday on Philadelphia radio," Milbury said. "In hindsight, I realize what I said was inappropriate and wrong, and I want to apologize to the Penguins organization and their fans."

Crosby offered the following on Tuesday:

"No, not really. I don't really have to get into that," Crosby said." I don't what he's looking for, if he's looking for attention or what it is. I don't have much to say there. I really don't know where that came from. You can really twist something a certain way, and he's obviously showing he's more than capable of doing that. He's pretty good at twisting stuff around, that's for sure."

If Sabres lose (which it looks like they will) the Caps will see a Rangers team on Sat that has nothing to play for and moreso they don't want to show them anything. Expect Biron in net with a lot of time from lines 3 and 4. I had tix to the game but sold them once NBC shifted the start time from 3 to 6:30.

You know what is crazy. I was considering seeing the Pens/Flyers and then the Phillies/Pirates at night. I can't do that because they switched the Pens/Flyers game to 4:00 pm and the Pirates start at 7:00 pm.

I will be attending the Rangers/Pens game on Thursday and not sure the Rangers will care about that game as they will be the number 1 seed.

I think if the Sabres don't win tonight they would only get in if the Caps lost their last 2 and the Sabres win their last 2. I think the Caps will get the 8 seed. The Sabres have run out of gas.

When we were kids (Maybe squirt level) we played in this rink that had fencing above the boards. During a scrum one of my team mates had his head against the fencing and a fan of the opposing team grabbed his helmet through the fencing. I think we may have been in the middle of a brawl. I agree that the Stars need this game, but they can get in if the Sharks lose their home and home to the Kings. Coyotes hosts the Jackets tonight and are on the road to the Blues and Wild.

I truly believe what happens in the regular season does not dictate how a series will play out in the playoffs. The Rangers have been dominant against the Flyers. If the Flyers get a hot goalie they are capable of beating the Rangers in the playoffs. You know better than to base a regular season record between 2 teams and to see the same outcome in the playoffs does not always happen.

Much rather face a team Flyers have owned this year than the opposite with Rangers.
