The Devils have 3 goals already. I am not sure Florida gets 3 goals this whole series. They don't have the goal scorers to get into a track meet. The Panthers can only beat the Devils if they win 1-0, 2-0, or 2-1 in a game. Brodeur is not going to give up too much against the Cats.

No, it was about what it means to 'draft well' and the relative quality of players in the 1/2 overall positions compared to players selected several picks later. 1992 and 1995 were just weak drafts. I suppose the Senators could have gone way off the board and drafted Iginla, but how crazy would that have been without our 50/50 hindsight? 9 other teams also passed on him.

Contrast it to 2004 and 2005, when the Pens drew the rights to draft one of the best #2 overall picks to date (Malkin) and then one of the best #1's (Cindy). It could not have gone any better for them.

I have not seen much of that series, but everytime I tuned in the other night there were always penalties.

I thought the start of the Flyers/Pens series they were letting stuff go, but it does not appear they are not letting much go.

The story in the Pens/Flyers is special teams. The Flyers are 2 for 2 on the PP in this series and had 2 shorthanded goals. Pens have another PP and need to convert in the worse way.
