I think the Blackhawk's Stanley Cup winning puck is more important since that was the OT puck that actually won the Cup.

The italian beefs are money. I've got a good recipe for those.
  3. Anus Full Member

Kesler beat out Datsyuk last year.
  4. WhatRUSaying Full Member

That is how much I follow the awards show then. It seems like Datsyuk does win the Selke all the time.

I never thought the puck at the end of the finals was that important. Just surprise that Elias of all people could be involved.

I know everyone can rest easy knowing Campbell won the Lady Byng

Lundqvist wins the Vezina. Quick deserved it more, but so be it.

I really can't believe Al's just dunks that entire sandwich in the beef stock. It looks delicious, but I'm not sure how my stomach would react.

Tried it once. It's too messy for me. I need the bread to stay together. The meat retains more than enough juice.

I was watching Stamkos showing off his house on YouTube and I guess he has his first NHL goal puck and some other puck framed on his wall. Maybe to hardcore collectors, these things are awesome... but I just think memorabilia is silly. :)

Maybe if I ever head out to Chicago again, I'll give it a shot. But I agree. I like dipping beef sandwiches in Au Jus, but an entire sandwich just seems like a mess.

EDIT: Now I'm watching the bacon sandwich. Ugh. I love bacon. This sandwich sounds like heaven... 15 pieces of bacon they said?

 My friend was just telling me she just picked up a Crock-Pot. I might have to pick up one just to try out recipes like this.

Well the good thing in hockey you should be able to keep the puck from going in the stands. I find it sad these baseball players have to give these fans something for catching their ball. I do think the memorabilia is silly and I was never one to want an autograph. It just seems cheezy to me.

    It is all about money.

Wow..pretty surprised to see Karlsson won the Norris over Weber but other than that everything was what I expected..Lundqvist, Malkin, Landenskog all winners.

I see Huge Bust Kovalchuk was voted 1st team NHL All Star as a LW....strange since Kovy played RW all season

I don't get it? Why is the best player EVER only receiving 458 points? :D

At least he's on the cover of NHL 2013! Woohoo!

Canadian bias would have voted for Weber........ it's these lazy fucking dolts covering the shit U.S. markets that just look at the stats and pick the guy with the most points that voted for the Swede.

Speaking of Mike Green, the Shanny giving Ovechkin a suspension from driving last night was probably one of the only jokes that worked "sentenced to ride on the back of Mike Green's scooter"
  17. mikesbandit Full Member

actually a pretty intelligent pick if you ask me......... nobody changed their game as much as he did to really embrace the spirit of safe play and gentlemanly conduct.
  18. johnni44 Full Member

How anyone figures that is beyond me. Shows lack of hockey sense. Henrik's numbers are statistically the same. The big difference is that Henrik played in a division where every team but one had more than 100 points (oh and also had the MVP in it too boot) and Quick played in a division where not a single team had 98 pts. So how exactly do you figure Quick deserved this?????

As for Brian winning the Byng. I would never want a defenseman on my team winning a 'gentleman's' award. It's actually embarrassing.
  19. Anus Full Member

Disagree. I think that first and foremost they want attention for Canadian teams -- their markets -- and those teams' star players, or else they would have picked Crosby over Sedin a couple years back. They'll all tell you that Weber is the better player, and they'll probably all spend next season being hyper-critical of Karlsson...but as long as he's been recognized, that's all that matters for now.

I am not disrespecting Lundqvist in anyway. I just think they gave it to him because the Rangers finished with one of the best records in hockey and the Kings did not.

I throw the teams record out the window. The Rangers scored 32 more goals than the Kings. I find that significant as LA had very little goal support and were in striking difference in taking 3rd in their conference.

I find the argument very week when you are comparing what division a team plays in. So, if Stamkos' team were in the playoff and won the scoring race his numbers would have been tainted because he is in the southeastern division.

So, I guess when Ovechkin was one of the top scorer in the league he should not be credited with being a good player because he plays in the southeastern conference.

Having said Lundqvist was worthy of winning the Vezina but I would have given it to Quick.

Rangers fans can see a Cup banner raising, but it will be in LA.

NHL Schedule out already!! The season begins very late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I give credit to Cooke for changing his game even though he can't take back his past.

You might be right about the Pens getting rid of Staal. Staal turned down a 10 year extension.

    NHL.com

Jordan Staal apparently isn't interested in a long-term deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins -- at least not night now.
TSN's Bob McKenzie reports on Twitter that Staal has turned down a 10-year offer from the Penguins, indicating to the club that he doesn't plan on signing an extension now.
Staal scored 25 goals and added 25 assists for 50 points in 62 games with the Penguins in 2011-12. He also led Pittsburgh in playoff scoring with six goals and three assists in the Penguins' six-game loss to the Philadelphia Flyers.
Staal is entering the final season of a four-year deal that carries an average annual value of $4 million per year. Though he's just 23 years old, under the current collective bargaining agreement Staal would be eligible for unrestricted free agency at the end of the 2012-13 season.
Pittsburgh took Staal with the second pick in the 2006 NHL Draft, He has 120 goals and 128 assists in 431 career games, all with the Penguins. He helped Pittsburgh win a Stanley Cup in 2009.

Heard rumors that Staal to Hurricanes is a strong possiblity. Obviously with Eric being there I'm sure it's a preferred destination.

Latest was Skinner possibly heading to Pittsburgh as part of some deal. Skinner's almost a bigger bitch than Crosby...They'd be a very whiny, annoying team with him on their roster...
  25. Anus Full Member

Quick vs. Lundqvist: the numbers are very close, but if Quick had Lundqvist's GAA the Kings might not have made the playoffs. Would have only been a few goals difference, but with all those close, low-scoring games they played it would have very easily been the difference between making the playoffs and missing them. They only made it by 5 points. Then you factor in that Quick played 69 games to Lundqvist's 62. I feel like even if Lundqvist deserved the Vezina over Quick by a coin toss, Quick probably deserved to be higher in the Hart race....Certainly as a finalist.

I saw that rumor too, but never heard Skinner mentioned in a deal. Staal is a special player as he can do it all. I am not sure he will ever be a top scorer in the league. If he is his defense may suffer.
