The State of SFN Politics

I’ve been reading and posting on SFN for about a year, mostly in Politics. The experience is something like crack addiction. There are a lot of intelligent, well-informed people, on all sides of the political spectrum, and it makes for some very entertaining reading. Strangely, Politics is basically one step above WGAS and a real whipping boy in General Chat.

I’m not sure why this is. Politics has delivered some of the most entertaining beatdowns I’ve seen on SFN. We destroyed and exposed racists and idiots such as Ironpirate for months before he was finally TO’d. The Politics graveyard is filled with inarticulate idiots such as Redeye, Frogball, and the infamous Ironpirate, and articulate ones such as Max-the-silent and Kev. Politics even managed to chase away the inscrutably annoying Winst, who even Mutt had to scour from the archives. The walking dead, NCMike, DUDE, all take a daily beating, and Politiees took a classic, multi thread assault that he’ll never recover from. Some do it with just a bit more competence.

It’s not a right versus left, democrat versus republican kind of debate in SFN Politics. There’s the hard core right wing, Bush supporters, who will never admit a single mistake, and then there’s everyone else: democrat, independent, libertarian, socialist, atheist, or none of the above. The current Republican perspective is a hard position to defend and the SFN Politics forum proves this on a daily basis.

Obviously, I have one central topic that I post to on SFN. To break it down, everything we discuss on SFN politics is secondary to 9/11. If evidence does not support the official story, then we must establish the truth or we’ll never get to the root causes of all other issues, such as Israel and Palestine, the Iraq war, terrorism, the erosion of civil liberties, everything.

In short, fuck the haters, this is the most interesting forum on SFN, and I just wanted to thank those who feed my crack-like addiction. It’s very entertaining.

But seriously, I agree... this forum is the one I check most of all before any others.... I enjoy the fun we get to have in here, but hopefully we can just debate the issues like normal people without the feelings and bullshit.

i've been a fan of the political forum even before it was officially a forum!

Can't say I'be been around that long!

While the plitical forum can be a bit slow, it is never dull, it is.

you always know where I am, I only sometimes post a pic or 2 in the adult forum, otherwise Im here.

I like General Chat when I need a laugh, but I definitely spend 90% of my time here.... For my money it is the most fun.

Honestly? Nothing against this forum, but my entire day is a very serious affair. I don't come to SFN for political discussion, I come to relax and have some fun conversation. Political discussions are almost never fun, so - other than this post - I just pass on this forum.

Don't forget the pictures! Who doesn't love the pictures?!

i take exception to anyone labelling Max-the-silent an idiot, i've occasionally disagreed with him but always found him intelligent and reasonable.

also, i take jaundiced note of the lack of lefty-loons in the tirade...nutjobs like Fateswebb, fat bastids like fatboy and centralized-power fellators like crazytree are often as tendentious and hallucination-prone as the classic redeye/ip/dudehere/nc mafia. in many ways Politics has grown nuttier and more nerdily esoteric than the days of Kali and Jack Shit vs Dread and Luther.

I don't think the ball busting is the goal, but it certainly is part of the process....

I can't speak for anyone else, but this is not the only place I go to discuss politics, and I find the humor and ball busting HERE to be unique and fun. Maybe it's because most of us are also fans of the show and already share a sense of humor, but I have found myself laughing so hard I have tears in my eyes after reading some of the tirades in here.

But even here there are plenty of people I have disagreed with since day one that I have never called a derogatory name, because they have never called ME a derogatory name. Even NCMike and I made it 4 or 5 days before the name calling started

Tony, you're the Paris Hilton of polysyllabic posturing. As for Max, you obviously haven't seen some of his gems in attempt to explain the physics involved in 9/11. Now I know you believe you're the authority on this subject, after reading your "explanations", but to assert that Flight 93 disappeared in Shanksville because crash dynamics are a "soft science" and that objects such as pencils and styrofoam cups can melt steel, as Max has done, is in fact idiocy.

Maybe it's just that no one worships you in here?

I was never officially told why -- so I don't really know?

But, I spent a week in there.
