To everyone bitching about censorship

A) The channel is marketed as uncensored look @ the show. There is never actual intercourse going on during the radio show, so no one should expect porn. There is however a big difference between an uncensored look and a PG-13 look. I can deal w/ making an initial *safe* episode then going back and adding more explicit content. If an episode is updated, said daily version should be updated, not the 2min clip in a weekly best of. The best of's should show content that didn't fit into the daily interviews/bits, not simple highlights of shows we already watched. (ie: Sal's outburst)

B) Content is not updated nearly as much as promised/ told on radio. If it's because of planning the film festival - they should have contracted some freelancers to keep HTV updated. Atleast let people know what's going on instead of saying things are available on demand when they aren't. Which has happened several times. Blaming local cable channels and throwing in the towel isn't the answer. The other on-demand channels I subscribe to don't have this issue.

C) Personally, I am making these observations because I want the channel improved. In the beginning I was a huge spokesman for HTV to all my friends. I have personally gotten atleast 10 people to subscribe. Those same 10 people are big fans of the radio show and got bored with the content after 2months. Six of them have already unsubscribed.

D) Doug's attitude is condescending and he never has a clear answer for anyone's inquiries. He should be concerned about the negative buzz the channel is receiving and embrace the feedback from fans. Most of us that are "complaining" just want to see improvement and be able to recommend the service to our friends.

If things improve, I will be the first person congratulating him for a job well done. I hope he hits a homerun with the film festival, but based on his on-air antics I am skeptical. I wish him the best of luck and as a fan would love to see the film festival live up to the hype.

im totally with khoffa on this one. sorry mutt, but i do not like being dicked around with something im paying for that is built up as UNCENSORED... if you tell me something is uncersored, that means there should be no second guessing of what content is allowable. from every class ive taken, they are allowed to show anything they want.. if they choose to limit stuff because they want to pander to the cable systems, thats just sad. i would think howard would be more about artistic integrity than making money.

the second f-machine episode was much much much better. no doubt. but as a director/editor of an UNCENSORED show, wouldnt you want the great angles and close ups? i mean christ, we got em with richards balls, but suddenly vagina is not allowed????

we dont want porn, we have our own porn section on SFN... what we want is what we were promised, 2 to 3 shows PER DAY of video content that we hear on the radio. UNCENSORED and properly edited/directed.

they should not have to hear our bitching to re-edit the episodes. it shoulda been done right in the first place. howard seems to not know about the editing going on, but im sure once he really looks at it, he'll be bitching too.


i will stick with it for 1 year... but if we dont start seeing better/more content, i have no desire to stay with it. maybe we are a minority, but i think howardTV has not lived up to its potential

I agree. They advertise it as uncensored. I don't want to cause any drama, but they need to tell the fans who are paying for the service what to expect. They said 2 to 3 shows a day, and that has been totally false. The uncensored thing was a little better with the newer version of the machines episode. I don't mind if there are restrictions, but don't make it out to be totally uncensored. And no, i'm not looking for it to be a porn channel, I'm just looking to get what I pay for, which is 2 or 3 shows a day and uncensored/properly edited material. Just sayin'

I wonder what kind of pricing and availability they'll have. It mentions they'll have "several" shows to choose from, but will it be $8 per viewing or a set amount to view them all for a block of time?

i never needed to see close ups but was a little bummed about the cut-away shots. I am over it, moved on...the OnDemand is still worth the money and required viewing

I have to agree that some of the editing has been shitty.

BUT My biggest disappointment has been all the shows not put up on the 16th as promised. Doug himself said on air and on this website that all shows pre-March 16th would be available on the 16th. That didn't happen.

I want to see the fake Arnold call to George Takei and other 1st week shows. How many shows have been put up that were pre-3/16? There has to be more updates. Maybe even make a "New Arrival" category and after they are not new anymore filter them into the other categories. What happened to the Sybian category, Howard said would be put up?

My wife and I love Howard TV but definite improvements could be made. Howard has always given us more than what we ask for but so far Howard TV is not living up to the Stern standard of quality. It's still great but we expect more, we are after all STERN FANS.

i hear ya Mutt... its just discouraging when you think its going to be one thing and it doesnt live up to your hopes. although i would argue the legallity of airing such programming as opposed to airing it because of what certain cable systems standards are... but oh well, its what we have and ill have to deal

This is false. What made the presentation of the first Machine episode so bizarre is that there HAVE been close-ups of Vag. Many in fact, with the candle blowing episode being the one that instantly springs to mind. That episode was almost gynecological in nature.

Like many have said, even discounting penetration, that first machine episode was just edited POORLY. It was an endless stream of disorienting cut-aways, even avoiding showing the girl's face at pertinent moments.

I don't think people are pissed because of the penetration, etc...

We have been told that this is uncensored. I think people are pissed because they want to be told what is and what is not within limits....that's all..

We should all be thankful for the OnDemand censorship, just think of how extremely gross the Blue Iris episode would have been without some censoring!

I have to say if the lines of what they can and cant show are not clear i would rather wait an extra day or two to see a better show with i guess more tastefull close ups and better shots of the action insted of quick cuts to the staff's reaction

then the rushed shows they have been puting up anyone else agree??

also the second F-ing Machines was much better and is a perfect example of not rushing and geting a better show

I still don't get why some shows are on the "Uncensored TV" part of my Comcast cable in CT and they are NOT on the HTV part so I don't get them. Why are they doing that? I know this has come up but some people have those shows on the HTV part. This time is the the two Penthouse Pets that are NOT on my HTV but are on the "Uncersored TV" section.
