I don't consider calling someone Gay an insult. So, if you assume I'm Gay, cool. SOOOOO, let's get back to you. I think you need to be honest with yourself and your loved ones. It will be hard for you to make that first step but once you do, you will be happy that I was there for you. Good luck buddy.

agreed, once Obama made a comment it became a left vs. right issue, and not about proper justice being delivered. The right automatically sides with Zimmerman since Obama showed support for the Martin family, to them, a black kid who sags his pants and stole a couple things is headed for a cell, which can be true but they don't even think that the opposite could happen. That Trayvon could have made something of himself, every single kid gets in some kinda deep shit, it's part of being a kid, seeing what you can get away with. Sure there is plenty who DO turn to that life of crime, but there are also plenty who learn from their mistakes and end up being good law abiding citizens, but the Fox sheep don't see it that way, they see black skin, sagged pants and they jump right to the conclusion he'll end up being a criminal. To them there is no way a black person can turn their lives around, they'll all end up drug dealing welfare crackheads. Now we'll never know what could have been since the only thing in his future is a grave and headstone. I just like how all the right wingers get on their soap boxes and preach like they've never done anything wrong in their childhood before and this kid deserved to die, sickening.

The crazy thing is all 3 Republican candidates also made comments on the case, Santorum and Gingrich going much further than Obama, and Romney also saying "my heart goes out to the Martin family."
  5. NickNuke Full Member

Gingrich said "If I knocked up a black chick, my illegitimate kid would look like Trayvon".

What he said was that the Stand Your Ground law shouldn't apply in the case.

very true, and Santorum and Newt went and played the race card to rile up their idiot followers as well. Newt should just shut the fuck up when it comes to family values.

And he made that comment before it was revealed that Martin broke Zimmerman's nose, slammed his head into the ground and told him "you're going to die."

You mean before Zimmerman said that happened. His head miraculously healed in a mere few hours and not a single drop of blood landed on him from shooting a man point blank in the chest who was on top of him.

But if you do want to go that route...Obama's comments came before Zimmerman made that claim as well. You know, the one you said injected "hate" into the matter.

And there's no need for a waiver, we'll just go to a gym and call it pratice.

I'm leaning that way because zimmerman got out of his car and followed martin while he was carrying concealed, injecting himself into a situation that had a high chance of escalating. He should not have done that. The situation obviously escalated and he felt the need to pull his gun and use deadly force in a situation that he instigated by following martin. This is going to be not only a profoundly difficult case for a prosecutor to try but also for a jury to consider, there is so many questions and angles to it, it makes my head hurt.

And at the end of the day, what do you find zimmerman guilty for? He used incredibly bad judgement but how far does that make him responsible for martin's death, after he claims martin attacked him and martin is not here to say anything.

I still thinks he will ultimately walk away but what happens after that, who knows. I would not want to be gorge zimmerman.

    1. Well, there are two sides to this story and sadly one of the sides will never be heard because he's deceased.

    2. You do know that paramedics treated Zimmerman at the scene, yes? His family and his lawyer have been making the rounds in the media recently to provide balance and stop the media lynch-mob that has been taking place since this story went national - they have made the claim that Zimmerman has a broken nose and wounds to his head from the scuffle - I'd be surprised if they are lying about it because it's very easy to disprove but if they are and Zimmerman just pulled out his gun and shot this kid for no reason then I'll be the first to say Zimmerman should be locked up for life. Until then, however, we need to be open to both sides and not just the media's narrative.

Obama made it personal the moment he said "if I had a son he'd look like Trayvon." Extending condolences to the Martin family is one thing - what he did was take sides in a case where Zimmerman's account had not yet been revealed and, as President, he should have expressed condolences to the family and said it was a local issue and leave it at that.

Well, following someone does not give him the right to start a fist fight. I'm sure that Martin felt that he was being singled out because he was a black kid and that pissed him off in a big way and I wouldn't blame him but that doesn't give him the right to start swinging on Zimmerman. Martin could have called the cops and reported a stranger following him around.

As for what Zimmerman could be found guilty for - perhaps excessive force given the circumstances (Martin was not wielding a weapon)? I don't know how this all falls into the "Stand Your Ground" law or manslaughter laws for that matter.

At the end of the day I think it will come down to the fact that Martin is not here to give his side. The police can discern only so much from what they saw at the scene. It's sort of like a state coming up with a law that says a homeowner can shoot a burglar but only after giving the burglar fair warning. Who's to know if a homeowner did that after shooting someone dead who broke into the house?

You are so fucking gullible, Vacate. If Paramedics treated him at the scene, and he was cut on the back of his head, you don't think there might be a bandage on the back of his head? His nose taped, filled with gauze? ANY BLOOD ON HIM WHATSOEVER?!?!?!

being gullible is watching some grainy security camera film and diagnosing someones injuries...you'd have made a great Nazi there Rev...

It isnt very grainy...and it's pretty obvious to see there is no bandage on the back of his head.

I'm on vacation in South Beach Miami. Fox was on so I watched it for a while just for the kick of it. Would you be shocked to know they called the fairly clear video 'grainy'.

It's not a matter if "if" the paramedics treated Zimmerman at the scene - the police have confirmed that they did treat him at the scene. If he had no injuries whatsoever, they would have spent their time on other suspect and not bothered with Zimmerman at all.

You're grasping at straws now Rev in your attempt to prosecute George Zimmerman based on grainy police station video and the one-sided telling of this story by the media.
