Like I figured, you have nothing to prove your claim I was mistaken.

Florida law known as Stand Your ground covers ANYONE, ANYWHERE, as long as they are there LAWFULLY.

Stand Your Ground does NOT require you to retreat.

Stand Your Ground does NOT require you to respond only in like kind, Example being if an unarmed person attacks you, you are ALLOWED to use deadly force if you reasonably fear great bodily harm or death.

"Law Enforcement" does NOT "order" anyone to do or don't do ANYTHING.

LAWS make the distinction between legal and illegal acts and law enforcement enforces the law.

You still do not know exactly what happened between Zimmerman and person shot that night but that does not stop you from pursuing your personal agenda and in the process making a jackass of yourself.

People like you have been promising blood running in the streets ever since concealed carry laws were widely introduced ten years ago, guess what, your predictions never happened and they never will.

14 million guns legally sold in 2009 alone, why are these guns not attacking people? Why is crime still dropping? How is it possible 30 million more evil guns since the last Presidential election and the blood is still not running. Millions of concealed carry permits issued and the crime-rate continue their downward trend, how do it work???

We know what you have posted is mostly true (except for the part about the police and justice system not being biased against minorities), but I cannot see the relevance to this particular incident. Is the fact the blacks are statistically more likely to commit violent crimes supposed to justify Zimmerman stalking, confronting, and shooting an unarmed black teenager?

    Jeb Bush disagrees.

-- Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Friday that the “stand your ground” self-defense law he signed while in office should not apply to the case of a teenager who was shot by a neighborhood watch volunteer in his home state.
“This law does not apply to this particular circumstance,” Bush said after an education panel discussion at the University of Texas at Arlington. “Stand your ground means stand your ground means stand your ground. It doesn’t mean chase after somebody who’s turned their back.”
He was referring to reports that the 17-year-old, Trayvon Martin, was pursued by the volunteer and fatally shot in a scuffle.
“Anytime an innocent life is taken it's a tragedy,” Bush said. “You've got to let the process work.”
Bush signed the law, pushed for by gun-rights advocates, in 2005. It allows people to use deadly force rather than retreat if they feel threatened, even if they are not at home. Police and prosecutors cited the law in deciding not to charge Martin’s killer.
The Martin case has opened up questions about race and justice. The teenager was walking home from a convenience story Feb. 26, in Sanford, Fla., an Orlando suburb, when a neighborhood watch volunteer followed Martin, after calling police to say he looked suspicious. The man, George Zimmerman, pulled his gun when the two got into a fight, and Martin was fatally shot.
Martin had no weapon, carrying only a drink and a bag of candy.
Zimmerman claimed that Martin attacked him as he tried to return to his truck. But supporters of the teen’s family say that would have been wildly out of character and that the case is typical of black youths being harassed and endangered for simply being in an area.
The case has sparked protests and demands for a fresh investigation. The town’s police chief and a local prosecutor have stepped aside in hopes of defusing tension.
Bush said Friday that he wondered why the investigation has taken so long to reach a conclusion. He said it took several weeks of public outrage and media attention for local officials step up their efforts.
“It doesn’t make sense to me,” he said. Bush added that he didn’t want a rush to judgment, but that public officials should be mindful that “there are a lot of people who are very concerned about this.”
“You’ve got to let the judicial process work,” he said. “Hopefully it’s done at a pace that is respectful for people hurting.”
Bush added that he still liked the measure. “Applied properly, I support the law,” he said.

not oops...hes saying flat out Zimmerman should be arrested. As did Santorum and Gingrich. But this must be a political issue because Trayvon is black.

Only in Sanford do they think you can chase a kid to start a fight with him and if he fights back you can legally murder him. Thats even IF Trayvon fought back. that is giving Zimmerman the best light. Most likely he attacked the kid and then shot him. the 911 tapes support that theory as Trayvon is screaming for help when the shot rings out and then...no more screaming and Trayvon is dead.

If this guy is refered as a White Hispanic, shouldn't President Obama be refered to as a White-Black man since his mother is White and the woman makes up 51% of your ethicinity?

Of course its political, that why everyone's panties are bunched up and politicians, pundits and preachers are passing judgement BEFORE ALL THE FACTS ARE KNOWN.

And you, you Love making things up, don't you.

And Jeb Bush pulls the ultimate political maneuver, he's against the law in this particular case, which we still don't have all the facts of, but still supports it in general principle. Gotta love that spineless prick. :jj2:

Tell ya what, your mouth burned you pretty badly in this thread. First you make accusations I am not forthcoming with information I posted and when challenged to back up your claim, you mumble a bunch of unintelligible bullshit and confirm your status as a liar and a anti-second amendment propagandist.

Further more I highly suspect you are somone's mult, as you are a one note poster, and have a very thin veneer than is now worn through, exposing the stoopid on the inside.

I'm not sure if it was mentioned here but that neighborhood had been plagued with burglaries.

Rev explained his point clearly in his response. I thought his point was clear from his post to begin with but I know a lot of things go over the heads of the slower among us.

I mentioned this once before, the sign of a true independent and free thinker is no longer tolerating absurdities, lies, innuendo and propaganda, regardless of its origin on the political spectrum.

Tyler had no point, he was being a dick and you are running cover. That's all that was.

“National Right to Carry Reciprocity Act of 2012” introduced in U.S. Senate

“National Right to Carry Reciprocity Act
of 2012” introduced in U.S. Senate

    March 13,

U.S. Senators Mark Begich (D-Alaska) and Joe Manchin (D-West Virginia) introduced S. 2188, the “National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act of 2012.” The bill is the Senate companion to H. R. 822,which was approved by the U. S. House last November by a vote of 272-154.

    S. 2188, like H.R. 822, would allow any person with a valid state-issued concealed firearm permit to carry a concealed handgun in any other state that issues concealed firearm permits, or that does not prohibit the carrying of concealed firearms for lawful purposes. A state’s laws governing where concealed handguns may be carried would apply within its borders.

Today 49 states either issue carry permits or otherwise authorize law-abiding people to carry firearms outside the home for self-defense. 41 states have fair “shall issue” permit systems that allow any law-abiding person to get a permit.

In contrast to dire predictions from anti-gun groups, Right-to-Carry laws have been enormously successful. Interstate reciprocity will serve as a fundamental protection of the right to self-defense by providing people with the ability to protect themselves not only in their home states, but anywhere they travel where carry concealed carry is legal.

Contrary to the false claims of some, these bills would not create federal gun registration or gun owner licensing, nor would they allow any federal agency to establish a federal standard for a carry permit or impose gun control restrictions of any kind.

These bills would have no effect on permitless carry laws, currently on the books in Arizona, Alaska, Wyoming and Vermont, that allow concealed carry without a permit. In addition, Vermont residents would be able to take advantage of S. 2188 and H.R. 822 by obtaining a permit from one of the many states that offer non-resident permits.

Please contact your U.S. Senators today and urge them to cosponsor S. 2188. You can call your U.S. Senators at 202-224-3121 or send them an email by clicking here.
