In the days of social media, this is becoming less and less of a fact. Anecdotal, but I heard about this thru the groundswell on facebook and twitter before I saw the media reporting on it.

Hispanic is not a race. A Hispanic could be black, white, indigenous, or mixed. There are a lot of black Hispanics, the descendents of African slaves who were taken to Spanish colonies - think of all the famous baseball players from the Dominican Republic and Cuba, for example. Sammy Sosa, Pedro Martinez, David Ortiz, and many more. The reason they mention that he is white is obvious and justifiable; the reason they mention that he is Hispanic does seem to be biased. Would they specify whether a white person of European descent was white English, white German, white Russian, or a white Italian?

I saw a patient today and I had to write down her race, and since she was from Puerto Rico, and she only spoke Spanish (I had an interpreter-) and to the race, I wrote: Hispanic.

Looks like Zimmerman's "he attacked me and hit my head into the curb" story is bullshit, where's all the hacks who were leaning on that story? Smelled liked bullshit from the start and now the surveillance video tells a different story. Now they'll have to rely on the "Trayvon was a thug in the making" story.

Zimmerman was treated by paramedics at the scene before he was taken into custody by the police - if he had blood on his face or head it would have been cleaned up. You can't judge by that video - it's grainy and the angles are not sufficient to say whether Zimmerman had a broken nose or not. I'd trust the paramedics' diagnosis before this video. I think we need to wait for verified information and not this drip of evidence. Either way, there are witnesses to the scuffle that took place so the idea that Zimmerman followed this kid around and then for no reason pulled out his gun and shot him is not true.

you don't have to be a doctor to notice that if a guy said "he bashed my head into the curb" and he broke my nose/needed stiches and shows up the same night with not a spot of blood on him, and no sign of any kind of trauma, he might be full of shit. It sucks this has turned into a left vs. right issue, partially the fault of Obama for his comments. Since then the conservatards MUST defend Zimmerman since Obama is on the side of the Martin family. If Obama is in favor of something, the tards must be against it, no matter what, in any and all cases.

Zimmerman's attorney said that his client sustained a "broken nose" and a "deep head laceration that would have required stitches had Mr Zimmerman been seen by a doctor immediately." He also stated that the back of his jacket was "heavily grass stained".

It looks as though the paramedics did Zimmerman's laundry, too. They did a great job removing the blood and grass stains. Of course it's possible that his injuries could have been treated and cleaned up by paramedics, but I would think that with a wound which would have required stitches we would see some sign of treatment... a bandage perhaps? A splint on his nose?

agreed, and is there any record of Zimmerman going to the hospital to get his stiches? and to fix up his "broken nose"? I guess if you ask Vacate or zimtard they did stitches right there on the spot. The hacks here are taking to a new level, all of a sudden a still shot of surveillance that shows Zimmerman clean as a whistle while being booked isn't enough. They look the other way on purpose and sadly it's because of Obama. Yes, I've seen that. I've also seen boxing matches where a fighter will take repeated jabs right on the nose and not walk away with blood streaming down his face.

All I'm saying is that Zimmerman was treated by paramedics on the scene before that video footage so the absence of blood on his face or on his head does not mean that there was a scuffle that he was losing and that Martin was not on top of him verbally threatening his life.
