Dude, every state has self-defense exceptions to killing somebody. If you are being attacked and kill them and the investigation shows this to be true, you will not be charged. In Florida, they take your word for it. There is no reason whatsoever Zimmerman should not be in jail awaiting trial. now if Trayvon had a knife or gun on him and shot Zimmerman to death when he was attacked, then he should be the one home free.

You cant claim self defense if you run up and assault someone whos doing nothing wrong.

Actually Rev, you are mistaken on all counts. There are over 31 other states with laws equivalent to Florida's Stand Your Ground statutes that pertain to your dwelling and 15 of those states allow Stand Your Ground wherever you happen to be, just like Florida.

You can legally shoot an unarmed person if you reasonably fear for your life, fear great bodily harm or are protecting someone else's life or protecting them from great bodily harm.

When these "Castle laws" were first passed starting some ten years ago, the anti-second amendment people called them "shoot first" laws and predicted great bloodshed would follow. They said someone could shoot a homeless man asking for a cigarette and no one would be able to prove anything and you know something, they were right about that but guess what? No one goes around shooting homeless guys who ask for cigarets, especially concealed carry permits holders, because they as a group, remain one of the most law-abiding segments of our society. It just rips me this bullshit is pulled into this story.

Not sure if this has been mentioned and I missed it but according to ABC, he was on his cell moments before he died with his girlfriend. The police had this info and never called the girl friend.

The case has been turned over to the state atty. they are taking it to a grand jury april 10.No chance there won`t be an inditement handed down.

The police have been abysmal in this case. They just accepted at face value that this black kid must have been the aggressor, even with witness accounts saying otherwise, and didnt bother to investigate at all.
