They should have gone for involuntary manslaughter - no way he gets convicted of 2nd degree murder.

Sounds like a charge levied to calm down the mobs in the streets down there.

If Zimmerman were to get the death penalty Tyler would be the first to volunteer his services in throwing the switch on the electric chair.

And to give the media their billion dollar circus. Worked like a charm.

Im against the death penalty. Nice try, though. How sad are you that Zimmerman was arrested and has to go to trial?

Was bound to happen, I thought they'd go with involuntary manslaughter but 2nd degree seems plausible. That should calm down the mob a bit.
  6. walygatr Full Member

At least until he's acquitted. Watch the media push for that result. Beautiful money!

I'm reserving judgement until more facts are leaked, er, made public.

Not to mention that they'll be pushing to have the cameras in the courtroom on so they can dissect every little thing.

No, I'm not sad at all - I just want justice and if Zimmerman committed what amounts to second degree murder then he should go to jail. I just have been appalled by the blood lust on display in the streets, in certain media precincts and here (yes, you my friend).

This one was done pure playbook starting with "White Hispanic" and it won't end without a full on riot. So far, I can't see that the media had one bit of influence on this decision. Nada.

Yes!!! Stay in the house and let the authorities do their job! Guys like you don't want to hear that because you have all this pent up white rage and you just want to go outside....UNPROVOKED...and gun down a black kid. You are a piece of shit! You are not Rambo...you are a dink who wants an excuse to kill because your life sucks and you blame the blacks.

Why is Fox not covering this story?
  13. walygatr Full Member

That's how they keep their rating up. To get you to look to see what they're doing.
  14. jtheweirdo Full Member

Yeah, pointing a gun at someone and pulling the trigger is very much involuntary. [IMG]

Oh yes, I've wanted him arrested for killing an unarmed kid. That's the same thing as wanting to kill him. You're ridiculous.

That is a totally unrelated issue.

"The difference between murder and manslaughter is your mental state," said Mark Geragos, a Los Angeles defense attorney, who is not connected to the case. "To elevate it to murder, you have to have the element of malice."

Malice is generally defined as showing ill will or "extreme indifference" to human life.

There was nothing involuntary about Zimmerman shooting Martin.

a momentous occasion, vacate, we finally agree on something. this is a big bone they are throwing to the rubes. they have no intention of trying this case. zimmerman will plead out to manslaughter, he would be a fool not to and the prosecutor would be a fool not to offer the deal if it is not already on the table. the state does not have any sort of case to try him for murder, probably not even manslaughter, he is giving an affirmative defense and would walk, the entire case is circumstantial the best witness they have is the girlfriend and that is all heresay (but probably admissible).

unless there is some huge trump card the special prosecutor is holding then i'd give it at least 80% chance zimmerman walks if he goes to trial.
  24. dogcow Full Member

no witnesses, no smoking gun forensics, no nothing. its his word against a dead man's the state has an uphill battle to prove manslaughter much less murder, the idea of it is laughable. the only thing they have is treyvon martin was unarmed

The mob has already returned a verdict of guilty and the court better agree or all hell is going to break loose in Fla.
