They also have public outrage. I'd say someone is gonna go looting at bealls dept store at the end of the trial.

It is interesting to see assumptions made without knowing the evidence. What was the angle of the bullet? Was gunshot residue present on Trayvon? Are there other witnesses who did not go public? Whose voice was heard yelling on the 9/11 call?

It is unlikely the special prosecutor would choose 2nd degree murder without some evidence to support the charge, no matter what public pressure is applied.

There was a 2nd man on a grassy knoll sipping iced tea and chowing on skittles... I hope the police brought him in for questioning.

As expected, you have no answers....

really? did you sleep thru the casey anthony debcale? they let her waltz out of jail scot free because the grandstanding prosecutor tried to get 1st degree murder. she could be in prison right now if they had gone for a more realistic charge.

If it goes to trial, the case will boil down to the jury's interpretation of the Stand Your Ground Law. Or rather if the judge allows them to interpret the law which usually happens now a days since the power of the jury has been grossly reduced over the years.

yes, i agree, barring some kind of smoking gun surprise. thats why i think a deal is pretty much inevitable, its a win for both sides at this point. if zimmerman goes away for a few years it will all blow over, if the prosecutor cant get a conviction they will look like even bigger clowns than they already do,.

And of course, as with so many national stories:

You have no proof of this. Can you tell me the angle of the bullet or if there was gunshot residue on Trayvon? Forensic evidence matters. We do not know the results. Until those and many other questions are answered, you are talking out of your ass.
  15. mambojambo Full Member

Actually those two stories happened very close to each other.

i have a pretty low opinion of the state attny office in this part of the state however i do not think its exactly going out on a limb to say if they had forensic evidence which contradicted zimmerman's story it would have taken 3 months to file charges.

True. Although how long has it been now (assuming that's today's photo)?

If he knows the angle of the bullet, will that somehow make Trayvon alive then? Or would it mean that Zimmerman was juggling guns and one somehow went off when he dropped one off the pavement?

And the fact that George Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin in the chest.
  22. dogcow Full Member

that hardly matters, in an affirmative defense.they have to show he acted outside of his legal rights

The shooting happened 43 days ago, not 3 months ago. The reason it has taken so long to charge him was not that they did not have enough evidence, it was that they did not want to arrest him (insert racist speculation here). The police had an abundance of evidence about the critical fact in the case, that Zimmerman shot the unarmed Martin in the chest. They had Zimmerman's gun, his confession, and Martin's dead body with Zimmerman's bullet in his chest. Despite all that, the police did not even arrest him or take away his gun.
