This is just appeasement to keep the lynch mobs calmed down for the time being. The protesters were publicly threatening to break the law if "justice" was not served.
Just like the Casey Anthony case, there doesn't seem to be sufficient evidence to convict him. When the trial is done and if he's found innocent "beyond reasonable doubt", the shit will hit the fan anyways. Stock up on bullets if you live in that area.

No one is found innocent beyond reasonable doubt. In fact, no one is found innocent at all. You are either found guilty beyond reasonable doubt, or you are not.

From what I read, this kid was within a gated private community. So he was trespassing, and from what I recall there were past burglaries within there, and that's why there was a community patrol. I know it's a fact that the shooter CALLED THE POLICE before he even shot the kid. If the shooter had the intention of murder, why call the police? Obviously he didn't wish to kill the kid, or he wouldn't of called the police.

All I know is this shooter now despite the FL law, will most certainly now be doing hard time. I'm not familiar with FL law, if they have the death penalty, I wouldn't doubt it if this guy gets put on death row. Why? Well, because of all these black people protesting like it's a hate crime. I bet this judge handling this case is pissed at the prosecutor for filing charges, because now if he doesn't rule guilty and please the racists, he'll have issues on his hands. I hate the justice system.

Is this just a case of poor criminals just trying to protect their livelihoods? They don't like the idea that people are going to start shooting them if they get caught in another neighborhood casing it out for burglaries? How are they supposed to make a living now? How are they supposed to buy their drugs?

I really don't feel sorry for this kid or his family if he was up to no good. If he got shot, so what. He's one less piece of crap to have to support behind bars for the rest of his life. And may he be a lesson to those who want to prey upon people who work for a living. We aren't taking your shit anymore.

I'll refrain from asking how you leap from him being in a gated community to trespassing, and just say that he was the guest of a resident.

Sounds like you aren't familiar with law at all. First, there is no death penalty for second degree murder, which he has been charged with. Second, a bench trial (that's a trial by judge, not by jury) is very unlikely. Third, only a jury can impose the death penalty, not a judge.

Has anybody else heard about this?

I will still wait for the facts to come out. I just hope this can be looked at fairly, justly and that we don't have a long hot summer. Some folks want this to end up being another nation wide riot because of a prejudgement by many on both sides. The media acts like they want this to end badly by omitting and overtly changing audio.

Yes, I'm afraid that under current Florida law, Zimmerman will be found innocent. I'm not saying he was in the right, just that he did not technically break Florida law.

If he was such a thug why was he screaming like a frightened teenager. What you need to do is flip the situation then ask the question. Your anwser may surprise you.

    He won't serve a day.

Even that liberal Alan Derschowitz says the Zimmerman Arrest Affidavit is ‘Irresponsible And Unethical’

Black culture has been poisoned and that is the elephant in the room.

This case is not so outrageous when compared to the many more ugly and clearly defined racially motivated crimes that happen every day.
The main stream media has successfully stirred-up a feeding frenzy for its own self serving interests.

Zimmerman very well may be a busybody Jewish Hispanic vigilante son of a judge. Trayvon could have been a sulking punk, casing the hood with his stolen skittles.

    Forget all of that.

So why is everyone so invested in this case?

The fact is that young black men are increasingly being drawn into a culture that glorifies a gangster lifestyle of violence, respect through intimidation and a callous criminal mentality. Thuggery romanticized and seen as a viable method to success for these kids.
They aren’t hard to identify since they segregate themselves from civilized society with ebonics vernacular, low work ethic, welfare dependent single mother families, and clown clothes.

There are two camps attracted to this issue, polarized by their conflicting view points.

One side wants someone, anyone in the black community to take some responsibility for their cultures moral regression in America. Address some particular issues and open up the dialog. But it seems their can be no discussion in the current climate without anger bubbling to the surface with over-sensitive cries of racism.

The other side makes excuses for the clear and disproportionate violence exhibited by this one racial group in America, and dismisses the violent criminal trend as a symptom of every other cultures racism. Heap the blame on atrocities of the past. Perhaps if we ignore these clear cultural separations and racist statistics, somehow we will all come together in harmony. More likely though the trend will continue downhill in the direction in which it is building momentum.
