Well, I fired Javier today..

With the court's decision to uphold obamacare and with obama's war on small business..

I just can't afford to pay the new taxes from obamacare. Also, with all the regulations governing all aspects of my business, It's just getting to difficult and expensive to employ Javier any longer.

I do have lots of cash reserves, and can clearly afford to keep Javier working with me, in fact I could hire more help, but Obama has just made it too difficult to predict the future profitibility of the company. My purpose is to make money. Thats it.

I have one option that I'm considering. I might outsource some of the work that Javier did to a firm in another country. I'll make more money that way and won't have to follow the regulations and obamacare taxes that are now imposed on my bottom line.

Anyway, its sad, but at least Javier will get free medical and food stamps. Even though Javier's citizenship may or may not be US. I'm not allowed to investigate his citizenship further due to risk of lawsuit, but I've always thought he may be illegal. But, I don't think citizenship will stop him from receiving the best of medical care and benefits that he is entitled to in the USA anyway.

Here are some of the new taxes you're going to have to pay to pay for Obamacare:

• A 3.8% surtax on "investment income" when your adjusted gross income is more than $200,000 ($250,000 for joint-filers). What is "investment income?" Dividends, interest, rent, capital gains, annuities, house sales, partnerships, etc. Taxes on dividends will rise from 15% to 18.8%--if Congress extends the Bush tax cuts. If Congress does not extend the Bush tax cuts, taxes on dividends will rise from 15% to a shocking 43.8%. (WSJ)
• A 0.9% surtax on Medicare taxes for those making $200,000 or more ($250,000 joint). You already pay Medicare tax of 1.45%, and your employer pays another 1.45% for you (unless you're self-employed, in which case you pay the whole 2.9% yourself). Next year, your Medicare bill will be 2.35%. (WSJ)
• Flexible Spending Account contributions will be capped at $2,500. Currently, there is no tax-related limit on how much you can set aside pre-tax to pay for medical expenses. Next year, there will be. If you have been socking away, say, $10,000 in your FSA to pay medical bills, you'll have to cut that to $2,500. (ATR.org)
• The itemized-deduction hurdle for medical expenses is going up to $10,000. Right now, any medical expenses over $7,500 per year are deductible. Next year, that hurdle will be $10,000. (ATR.org)
• The penalty on non-medical withdrawals from Healthcare Savings Accounts is now 20% instead of 10%. That's twice the penalty that applies to annuities, IRAs, and other tax-free vehicles. (ATR.org)

You are so right about obamacare. It really should be called obama tax since that is what it is. It has nothing to do with health or care, but all about tax and control.
I'd like to see some of these people who complain about their insurance, try and get what they want when the government is in charge and there is no where else to go. At least now, there is still competition and free choice. That probably will be gone in a few years if this tax is not overturned.
