Why Does Howard Care About Gay Marriage?

I just watched this clip where Howard is ranting about gay marriage again. Is Howard receiving some sort of payoff for making these sorts of remarks? I just do not understand why he cares so much. Marriage is a union between man and woman and always has been so why change it now? The comment he made saying "We all have gay and lesbian people in our families? I don't know about anyone else but I do not have a gay person in my whole family.

One of the funniest, heaviest and most straight-to-the point things Howard ever said on this topic was, "I think gay people should be allowed to be as miserable as normal people". Still, it would have been funny to see Matt make a grab for the wig.

No they should not be allowed to raise children what will happen when the child goes to school? Teach the kids in school and say that it is socially acceptable to cut down on the amount of childbirths.
