I'm talking more about the whole season, I don't think one show or one week is going to tell the story. If there isn't an overall increase for the season equal to the extra expense that NBC put into the show, NBC will consider it a failure. In the end it's all about $$$$$.

Based off Wiki last years ratings started out at 15.28 then fell to a 14.37 by the final.

I'll go with a 16.00 rating to start with and falling down to that 14. something rating at the end. Not much of a bump but a little one.

I also believe that tomorrow both you and Howard will have plenty of excuses as you move the goalposts, blame the network for starting it early and split to some minor demo to claim your are right but in the end we will all just laugh at you. With the competition it has tonight, 12 rating max. The real ratings and decision on Howard's effect will be in 3-4 weeks from now. My guess is that the ratings over the summer will be pretty much the same as it was last year because no one is watching these shows for the "judges".

I see the first couple of shows doing well, but nothing extraordinary. NBC is depending on Howard's 20 million fans to watch.

Problem is, Howard doesnt have 20 million fans. At this point, I don't know if he has 10 million. And those who didn't follow him to Sirius (and I know quite of few people who didn't) have forgotten Howard and aren't interested in seeing him on TV.

I don't see a significant change in the ratings or opinion in the show. But of course, Howard's sychophants will be the loudest, so it will seem like he's on top. It's all about image, baby.

Howard has 20 million fans of what he's already done, not what he's doing now.
