Would you agree the show won't be back and is falling down hill fast?

I'm not out to bash Howard as I would do the same thing if I was getting screwed. I know he won't be back. He loves AGT it's obvious.
Lets talk about a regular show since I listen every day.
    Prank
    Opening from some band
    Howard's intro
    AGT
    Commercial
    AGT
    Commercial
    Commercial
    Commercial
    News

After listening since he started on Sirius, I'm am becoming a bigger Ellis fan.

My brother has every Sirius show recorded so l have another 5 years of content at least.

Even marginal Howard is way better than Nick and Artie, or any other bullshit on the radio. He's obviously not doing the show for the money, but prolly instead for his love of his craft, love of his staff, and to keep some presence for his true fans.

I'd like to see any of the real haters as productive at 58 as they were at 38, recovering stoners and alcoholics excluded.

And the 80 million a year doesn't factor into it at all, it's all about his love of radio, if he loved doing radio he wouldn't do the bare minimum possible to fulfill his contract and he would be enthusiastic about producing a good show. You must have access to some great drugs.

Howard loves radio but is intrigued by TV. My prediction can't be made until this season of AGT is complete. Just from his dialogues alone about how it's a lot more than he thought and how tired he is tells me is giving himself the out if it's not a ratings home run. He's using this as leverage just in case the ratings go through the roof to sign a newer higher paying long term deal with NBC at which point he will settle his lawsuit with Sirius and they will let him out of his contract for a % of the money he is still owed.

TV is his future, but I believe the lawsuit is really where things started to decline.

With his lifestyle, Howard couldn't spend 10% of his net worth in 100 years. Obviously a person wants to earn whatever they think they're worth, it's just human nature. But if you think Howard believes he needs to bank another 200 million this contract to be "set for life," you're the one smoking crack. If you were sitting on $500,000,000, I doubt you'd be getting up for work even two days per week (nor would I), no matter how much you were being paid. There's more motivation for him than just money; there has to be. I believe it has as much to do with loyalty to his staff as anything else.

As for working the bare minimum, if true that might be a function of his lawsuit with a company trying to fuck him out of a big chunk of money he deserves and has earned. Again, it's not that he needs it, but rather that desire to be paid ones worth for a job well-done.

Howard is all done with Sirius-XM.
He said this week he thought they only had 2 good months as a show at Sirius-XM.

That kind of PUBLIC attitude is clearly an indication that Howard has an exit strategy.
AGT is the vehicle that moves his career to where he wants to be.
I say good bless his good fortune but it would be nice if he could be honest with his listeners and fans.

Once AGT hits the air, the negotiations to get out of his contract begin in earnest.

I agree with you that Howard has been really soured to Sirius since their refusal to make the payments he feels entitled to.

But TV is his future? I don't buy it.

Howard himself has said that he realized a long time ago that what he's good at is radio, and it will recieve the lion's share of his effort. Sure, he's written some books, he's done a movie of his life, he had several TV shows, he's done live shows, he's done pay-per-view, he's produced. But these projects come and go. He stays on radio.

And if you ask me, radio is the only thing he's really good at.

Now, don't get me wrong, I have both his books, I saw Private Parts on opening night, I ordered New Years Rotten eve, I still have a copy of Butt Bongo Fiesta on my shelf, hell, I was at the US Open Sores show at the Nassau Coliseum. And I ordered the video. I watched the channel 9 show every week. How far back do you want to go? I traded in my converter box to get The Negligee and Underpants party.

I've seen almost everything non-radio related that Howard's ever done. And not one of them is as good as his radio show. Even the E! show wasn't as good as his radio show...and it was his radio show!

All of these projects took center stage for a while. He talked about them incessantly. Some fans were angry that Howard was now an author, or an actor, or a TV star, and now the radio show took second place. But then he got bored of these projects, and they ended. And through it all, he was still on the radio.

These projects don't define Howard. They're just topics. Topics for his radio show.

    The radio defines Howard.

I've posted for several years about this issue. There were some notable changes in Howard's behavior and attitude in 2006 after the CBS-Viacom lawsuit which predate the more obvious ones we are aware of now since the more recent SIRIUS-lawsuit issues arose. There were budget cuts, layoffs and Howard's book of ideas for the channels was suddenly discarded without a word.

Howard has never shared with us why this change occurred but I'm convinced there is one factor in particular amongst the many and his name is Mel. More ramblings and speculation about this at a later date.

I love Artie but the N&A show is unfunny and unlistenable. Which is strange because it was very good for about the first 3 months. It has to be funny because if your looking for sports talk, I'm sure there are many better shows out there.

The show has been falling downhill for years. The AGT horseshit was just the final nail.
I was the last fan I knew. :(
