I watched it up until Fred's scene and I was so proud of him. I thought he did great in his role of running the head shop and trying to stonewall the pigs that were clearly hassling him.

I've never watched Law and Order, or Law and Order SVU before tonight, but damn. Talk about pandering to idiots.

If you didn't see it, this episode dealt with "straight" men going in to gay bars and picking up a violent trick who "backdoored" them and beat them senseless. The perpetrator was revealed to us in the opening sequence and was so obviously creepy that I hardly felt sorry for the victims. Only a dumbass would have picked up this ugly fucker and gone to a hotel with him, much less turned their naked back on him.

I know the L & O franchises have been on TV for decades. I had no idea that scripted television had fallen so far, quality-wise. No wonder reality TV has taken over every network, every night.

I got the feeling that the producers fully expect the audience to fall asleep before the third commercial break.

And I'm not blaming Fred. He said on TWUS that people who complain that acting is hard are full of shit. The whole show was so full of obvious stereotypes, from the long-haired "freak" who came in the head shop and turned tail when the cop flashed her badge to the driven, Type-A wife who thought her husband had been mugged. (Even though he was found naked on his stomach, sodomized in a cheap hotel room.)
