While I'm glad that there has finally been an arrest, I do feel a tinge of sadness that he wasn't gunned down in the same fashion that he murdered that teenage boy.
Nevertheless, this is a great day for justice. Let's dance!

This will be good for the stand your ground law. Many have been calling for the repeal. I was even thinking how easy it would be to murder someone now and get away with it. I was making a list...

I live in Florida and am taking my concealed weapons license course Saturday.

they will deal he will do some time probably released early but i doubt he will ever
see a trial. the state has a flimsy enough case it took them this long to even bring charges
i dont think a conviction is exactly a slam dunk, if zimmerman is smart he will deal and do
3-5 yrs. thats pretty good all things considered.

I don't have the facts, but it seems the investigation was incomplete. Do they know what the shooting angle was, distance ect? No toxicology of the shooter. Was Zimmerman really retreating to his truck? What was he even doing outside of his truck? Citizens arrest?

Don't have him try on the glove.

Really? Didn't know that was a Boots shtick. I've only been on here 2 years and I haven't seen him since I first started here. At the time he was just posting his Youtube vids of him pestering people on the streets.

He feels threatened on an internet message board but has no qualms about terrorizing defenseless young black kids on the street with a gun. Quite the logic there.

none of that matters, zimmerman is making an affirimative defense, he does not deny shooting and killing martin. the burden of proof is on the state to show he was outside his legal rights to do so. no eyewitnesses to the crime except martin who is dead. the entire case is circumstantial that is why he was not charged in the first place, without a smoking gun (so to speak) they have basically nothing.

Unfortunately, you might be right. That's why i was and still am hoping for some street justice.

That's why there are serious flaws with the law. Makes murder easier than shoplifting. The main witness will always be dead. There would soon be a rash of these killings. I will now shoot in a millisecond. Shoot or be shot.

there wont be any rash of killing the law has been on the books since 2005, justifiable homicides more than doubled during that time,however it is still a very very small number. the law is seriously flawed for the reasons you cited, but it is what it is, the state has a very weak case.

Up 300% The law as just passed here last fall. The law is flawed. I can kill about anyone I want and get away with it.

Just wait until he is found not guilty, what will you guys say then and how bad will the riots be ?

i wonder how many of the people screaming for zimmerman's head are the same who were screaming for trials for KSM and others in gitmo. how many innocent people did he kill? either you believe in the rule of law, or you don't it is that simple. i believe in the rule of law for everyone including enemies of this country and people like zimmerman, not for their sake but for the sake of innocent people. to me it is better 100 guilty men go free than one innocent man is punished.
